Rules of the Thread:1. If you're posting, make sure your charactor actual fits into the action. 2. 3-day rule 3. We post according to order, though there's exceptions 4. Have fun Summary:Travis rescues Banez and they escape from the battle. They're currently taking shelter at Travis's cabin, where Banez's wounds are being tended for. However, they soon are discovered by some unexpected guests... Thread Theme:www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa306R6JaHAThe beginning of the song really draws out the huge lost of life that just happened while the faster pace melody brings out the action that's about to happen.
After running what must of been half an hour, it seems Travis and Banez have escaped from the warzone and made it to the santuary of Travis's cabin. The ranger opened the door and allowed the captain to enter first. The house wasn't anything spatacular. The first room that'll you enter, and the biggest of the rooms, was the living room. The was a stone fireplace, an assortment of deer plets on the wall, a rocking chair by the fireplace, a bear-skin rug, and in the middle a large table with a collection of blades, bows, and "odd" weapons. To the right was the kitchen. There was a stove where cooking can be done, a countertop, a dining table, a overhead pantry containing cooking and medical supplies, a cabinet containing silverware, and a rack to hang any game he will cooking. To the left was the bedroom. It was a small room, only containing his bed and a dresser for his clothes. Travis led Banez to the bedroom and made him lay down. He striped off his armor and his shirt so he could better examine his wounds. The ranger was quite surprised how that vampire was able to slice through the knight's armor. While the cut was deep and still bleeding, it wasn't anything too serious. The ranger then went to the kitchen, went to grab some medical supplies, and returned the bedroom. "Don't worry, Captain, I'll make sure you'll do fine." He said confidently. He just hope Analisia will arrive soon.

Banez lay on the bed, glancing up when Travis returned with the healing kit. The wound might be treatable, but it still felt like hell, and his mind was still reeling from the battle before, if it could even be called a battle. It was more like a slaughter. Just the fact that a handful of them escaped was a miracle. "Thank you, Travis. I owe you my life. But how did you know we were there?" Maybe he didn't. That would have been one lucky coincidence....
The rest of his men had moved on, under the command of Cruz, but Simon limped after the ranger to the kitchen and nabbed some salve and bandages. Leaning his halberd on the wall, the well-build redhead then sat down on the floor and started tending to his own calf. In his opinion, with all the explosives going off, it probably wasn't difficult for the ranger to hear that something had been going on at the mountain's base.

Analisia stepped through the door quitely, just as the human asked Travis how he knew what was happening. She walked up behind Travis, past another human, and touched Travis' shoulder. She looked down at the injured man, frowning gently. "We were in the area, Travis ran to help you." She ran a hand through her long hair, then looked at Travis. "I was off in the nearby forest, keeping a small area safe from the vampires for any survivors that came along." She turned back to look at the human standing and nodded to him. "If you have any troops that need rest, they can go there and I will take care of them." She steps away for a moment to bring back a glass of water for the injured human, smiling at him gently.

Travis looked back see who touched his shoulder, who happened to be Analisia. The ranger was happy that she made in one piece and that she was helping the soldiers. She was definatly a great companion. "Yeah, what she said," replied Travis as he started to clean the wound with an oil, "Whatever the hell was making that noise could be heard for miles. By the way, Captain , this is Analisia. Analisia, this is Captain Banez." He smiled as he started stinch the wound together.

Simon did a double-take when Analisia passed. Well hello there.
Banez looked up again when a woman entered the cabin. She looked elegantly wild, so Banez could see why the ranger knew her. "Ah.. good. Thank you. They should be able to get to the capital if they're quick. I'm in both your DE--!!" Banez flinched when the salve burned his wound, although he knew it was necessary to stave away infection. As the ranger started stitching the wound, Banez managed to not indulge his reflexes. "Debts.... And it's a pleasure to meet you, Analisia," he managed a more characteristic smile in return as he took the glass of water, and then realized just how thirsty he was when the glass became only half-full. "As Travis said, I'm Banez Gladpath. And that's Simon Renard, wherever he is."
"In the kitchen, Captain," Simon called out from where he was, likely still treating and wrapping his calf.

"Tis a Pleasure truly. I have to wonder, why did your army come to the mountain? Did you not know about the vampires here sir Gladpath?" Analisia wondered what would bring the human army here, here to be slaughtered. And she wondered if her kin were about, and why everyone had been so badly hurt. "Were the vampires that truly prepared and organized?" She looks at Travis in worry, if her pack had come to this.... With a sigh she let such worrisome thoughts go. There was little that she could do now, the vampire's would have scoured the battle field, there would be no surivors there... With a sad shake of her head, she held out her hand. "I can get you more water if you so wish."

Travis stopped his stitching as he looked back at Analisia. She had a concerned look on her face. He knew what she was worried about. She was wondering about her pack, if they'll be facing these monsters. "Don't worry, we'll be able to stop these monsters." he replied confidently before finishing stitching up the wound and starting to bandage. After finishing up the bandaging, he told Banez, "I think I'll help out the others. You should rest up Captain." With that, the ranger walked out of the room to see who else needed help.

"A few weeks ago, the werecat ambassador told us at the castle that the werecats suspected vampiric activity around the mountain, but we didn't know for sure. We had arranged with both the werecats and werewolves to meet us today in order to search the mountain and fight with us, but they never came," he said miserably. Why? Why had they been abandoned? He thought back on the start of the siege, frowning as he looked at Analisia, "They have ranged weapons and a force of archers. I've never seen explosions that large on a battlefield before. We weren't waiting for too long, and they couldn't have known we were coming beforehand; they had to have mobilized two groups of soldiers in that time." He looked at the ground distantly, then turned his head to the ranger. "Alright. Thank you again, Travis. And I'll be alright Lady Analisia, but thank you."
Simon carefully made his way out of the kitchen, using the haft of his poleaxe as a sort of walking stick. He slipped into the bedroom, leaning his weight back against the wall.

"The pack never came?" Analisia's eyes went wide, at least they weren't dead here, but it meant that something major had to have happened. She didn't care if her next words gave her identity away, they had to find out what had happened."I have to get back to my pack... They could be in even worse trouble. Travis," she called to him," we need to go and soon." She started bouncing on her heels. Then looked at Banez. "Unless you were needed at the castle I suggest that you come with us, I haven't seen my pack in many years, and they need a familiar face. If they recognize you, we might be able to gain trust. We have to find out what kept them, it isn't like the pack to leave our allies alone when help is most needed." She bit her lip from worry. "Your soldiers will make it back safely from here, the road is well watched, but we must hurry."

Travis went to check on on the rest of Banez's men. So far, they seem to have been taking care of themselves. Upon returning to the bedroom, he heard Analisia call to him. She wanted to return to her pack with Banez after hearing they might be in trouble. The ranger wasn't sure he should fallback on Analisia's plan. They needed to bring Banez back to Cados so he could mount the city's defences. And if something wrong was going on between the werecreatures, they might accidently make things worse. "I don't know, shouldn't we bring Banez back to Cados?" Travis interjected, "I wouldn't mind traveling back to your homeland and see what's going on, but his priority is with the Royal Guard and ensuring Cados is protected, especially since we are dealing with a powerful enemy here. But I guess it depends on the Captain's decision."

Banez slowly understood Analisia's race the more she talked. And he could see her point. They needed to see what just happened with the wereanimals. But he needed to return to the castle as soon as he was well... he needed to prepare for war. Travis seemed to take this side, but it fell on his shoulders. The captain paused for several moments. "...I must return to Cados. I'm sorry... But I promise, I will make sure an official checks on the condition of your pack. Or as Travis said, he could go to Naulus. It isn't too far from Tiaelde."

Analisia looked disappointed, until she took a moment to think things through. Rash actions were what sent her into exile in the first place, she reminded herself. Then sighed. Nodding, she looked at Banez. "Of course Sir Gladpath, we must escort you and your soldiers back to the Castle. I was speaking rashly earlier, I would not be welcome in my homeland anyways. You are the priority here, we must get you back safely." She looks to Travis, blushing slightly and ashamed for not thinking before she spoke earlier. She scooted closer to the Ranger, hands clasped in front of her stomach. "If you wouldn't mind, perhaps I can accompany you to the castle, act as one of your guards. Werewolves are the protectors of man, and if you so allow it, I would be honored to do what I can for you." She bows slightly, then stands back up to look at Banez.

Travis was glad that Analisia understood why they couldn't go back to her. The ranger knew Banez will follow through his promise and they'll be able to know the whereabouts of the packs. He did hope that they were ok; he didn't want her to feel bad. But now, they needed to bring Banez and his men back to safety. "I will accompany you, too." He added as he too bowed in front of the captain. "I think I've proven myself as an useful asset to you by now. Besides, where she goes, I go." He made a nod towards the werewolf.
Meanwhile in the shadows of the forest, several figures in black clothing are watching the cabin. The individual in charge was none other then Tartus. The vampire was able to track Travis and Banez back to their safe house, and he brought a few of his friends with him. About 3 in total, they were each armed with their own assortment of weapons. A mace, a battleaxe, and a boardsword.

"I understand. I'd be worried too were I in your position," he said to Analisia. "Your aid would be greatly appreciated, Lady Analisia. I'd be very relieved to have a werewolf traveling with us." He considered that maybe if he reported Analisia's dedication to Harrier, the alpha would consider her into the pack. He wondered what she had done, but that wasn't an appropriate discussion for now. Even though the captain didn't want to risk moving so soon, the captain made an effort to clasp his hand on Travis' shoulder. "You're a good man, Travis. I'll make sure you're rewarded for your help once we've reached the capital. Both of you, in some way or another."

Analisia smiled at Banez, then nodded her head. "We must get ready to leave then, we wouldn't want anyone to worry about you." She says with a small smile, then looks over at Simon. "How many men are here with us to escort the captain back? And how many are actually able to carry enough days worth of food?" She asks briskly, her instincts taking over. She was no alpha, but Analisia knew how to take charge of hunting parties when needed, and was this any different? She pulled back her long dark hair and started to braid it, it was time for business.
