Wilburg saw the blade coming towards throat, prompting the vampire to duck. The sargent then spun and shoved the dark-skinned man to the ground. He then moved and made a thrust with his sword at white-haired man's stomach.
The squad leader heard the woman's battle cry, as she unexpectively bashed one of his soldiers to the ground. She was a warrior of valor, indeed, but she was definately going over head by fighting a gang of vampires, even with the assistance those werecats. Two of the vampires soon charged the knightly woman while the squad made his pickings with the ginger.
The second part of the squad saw the human guards guarding the draw bridge mechanism. The brute of the team smiled when the green-ribboned soldier came charging at them. Advancing with his warhammer in hand, he swung the steel slab into the soldier's chest. The others followed the larger vampire's lead as one leaped onto axe wielding guard while another with a sword and board charged the heart faced soldier.

The dark-skinned guard stumbled and hit the ground on his ass, wincing as the pain shocked up through his spine. Ahhh, first a big shock and now he suspected his tail bone was injured... Praying that his comrade fared better than himself, the dark-skinned guard rolled to the ground, playing dead until he regained his will to fight again.
The white-haired guard danced back, readying his scimitar, although he was having trouble finding an opening in the dark-armored warrior's armor. "You better surrender! If we don't beat you, God certainly will!"

"I will defeat you with honor," Zoshi hissed, her blade slashing down into the throat of the soldier she had bashed down. Vampires... Well if she was to die, then she'd do so in the defense of others! She widened her stance as two vampires approached her, eyes flaring in determination. "I shall not let you pass!"
She raised her sword and would thrust it toward the one on her left as she smashed her shield forward to slam into the one charging her right.

Lumi zigged and zagged to the sides as the vampire charged her, until he came close enough. She sprung to the outside of his weapon-wielding arm, spinning and stabbing the pointed side of her steel cross into the vampire's neck, "Surprise!"
There was a loud CLANKKKGH where the warhammer practically made a hole in the green-ribboned guard's breastplate, sounding as though it had crushed part of his soul. The green-ribboned guard went down with a clatter and a strained gasping noise, trying to draw air into his shocked lungs. How... how did that just happen...? He didn't even see it coming...
The other two men stopped in their tracks, looking at their commander with horrified expressions. But their shock quickly wore off when they saw the other two vampires darting toward them. The knit-pinned guard threw up his axe, staying in a defensive stance. The heart-faced guard threw his spetum up to catch the sword blade into the crevice of its three prongs. He yanked the spetum to the side, trying to wrench the sword out of the vampire's hands.

Wilburg snarked at the white-haired man. "I seriously doubt your god will save you." He made a quick spin attack to the left, striking his blade into the side of the guard.
The vampire was quickly disposed by armored woman. The two soldiers, seeing their fallen comrade, quickly built up their rage, which made their charge harder, but also careless. The one on the right swung his mace his mace at her chest while the other took his swung his sword towards her legs.
Squad leader couldn't hit the agile werecat. Eventually, the ginger gained the uphand by flanking him and thrusting her blessed instrument at the vampire's throat. However, the vampire was quick enough, moving his hand to block the blade from priecing his neck. He then slapped the werecat away. He gasped as he attempted to hide the pain of being stabbed in the hand by a cross. This was going to be a tough fight.
The other team continued their advance towards opening the bridge. The vampire jumping on the axe-bearing soldier used his weapon to block blade from hitting him. The shield bearing vampire spun around to release the spetum's hold on his sword. The larger vampire walked over to the downed commander, raised his hammer, and banged at the human's head.

The white-haired guard cried out when the sword actually broke the chainmail and bit into his side. He retreated some steps away, holding his injured side and tightening his grip on his scimitar. "Saving would be nice... but my soul at least will be saved. What happened to your faith?" Although he could imagine what; the white-haired guard knew that he himself would feel crushed if the most benevolent force in the world did not love him.

Zoshi's heart rate increased as she was filled with battle rage. She stared down the vampires at their careless charge, moving quickly and almost mechanically. Her shield came up to meet the mace before she pushed upwards to force the wielder's arm up. While she did this her sword swept down to block the one coming at her leg. After its momentum had stopped, she twisted it to free it of the other before swinging up and around the other blade to get it into position where she would then thrust it toward the chest of the mace wielder while his arm was up.

Lumi noised almost just like a cat when she was smacked, tearing the cross out of the vampire's hand as she darted back to a safe distance. She gave a quick glance in Zoshi's direction, seeing that the armored woman was handling herself well so far. Her attention then fell back on the squad leader. "Come on, your turn now," she said, although her tone held a sharp edge.
The green-ribbon guard continued struggling with air, fairly certain that his lung was crushed. Failure.... you were taught better than that. He saw the hammer-wielding vampire advancing on him and tensed. All the things he had been unable to accomplish crossed his mind, but after clutching the cross that hung around his neck, he closed his eyes with acceptance. With a thick CRUNCH, the green-ribboned guard stilled entirely.
The knit-pinned guard caught his footing with he clashed with the vampire, but then froze when he heard the crunch. The heart-faced guard shivered, stepping back when the shield-wielding vampire freed his sword. He narrowed his eyes, but without their commander, despair clawed at his insides.

"I lost my faith when I turned into this monster," muttered Wulburg before striking his blade through the guard's armed hand.
The duo failed at their assault at the palalin as she was able to repel them. The mace wielder saw the woman's thrust and was able to dodge to the side. Meanwhile, the other soldier swung sword at the woman's side.
The squad leader gazed at the red-headed werecat. His hand was burning but he still was strong. He felt like his opponent was playing with him, as if she was the cat (well, literally she was) and he was the rat. He knew he couldn't fall for the ginger's tricks. "And when did this become a game?" quirked the vampire. "And by all means, shouldn't it be your turn since I striked first?"Afterall, he did want to "play" fair.
After finishing off the green guard, the brute ran to bridge mechanism to pull the switch. Meanwhile, the sword wielding swung his blade to dehead his discouraged foe while axe-wielding vampire suck his fangs into his victim's neck.

The white-haired guard stumbled back when the vampire attacked unexpectedly. He didn't want to fight, partly because he knew that engaging the vampire meant certain death. Then he heard grinding and creaking, and after donning a confused expression, he backed away from Wilburg and glanced down from the wall. The bridge was lowering... ?!! How was... What... Why??
The dark-skinned guard had pulled himself up, looking down to see the situation that had stopped his friend in his tracks. What was the other squad thinking??
The white-sashed guard perked from the frenzy of the battle, looking down into the city and seeing the black-clad soldier working the mechanism. Shit!! No, no, no.. He bolted to the nearest tower to get back to level ground, and help get other guards to start ushering people into the cathedral.

Zoshi threw herself forward so that the only thing that hit her was the vampire's arm instead. Even through the sound of her blood pounding in her ears, she could hear the gate creaking down. No... The city couldn't fall! And that also meant that she'd have vampires at her back and at her front. This wasn't good... She had to finish this quickly if she wanted to do anything about this.
Her shield came forward to bash into the mace wielder as her blade swung sideways to try to slice across the vampire's throat.

"If you want to get stabbed again, sure," Lumi replied. Then she heard the drawbridge lowering, and her eyes widened. Oh... crap! They needed to kill these vampires before they were overrun, if there was even a point in it. And the coffin... Lumi rushed forward, brandishing the cross and observing every movement of the squad leader's.
The knit-pinned guard yelled out when the vampire's fangs sunk into his neck. The heart-faced guard held his spetum vertically to block the incoming sword strike, but even then he felt his neck tingle when he realized where the sword would have gone through should it have continued its path. But with all of his comrades dying around him, he suspected that he would become overwhelmed.

Valmar smiled as he watched the bridge to the city lower down. His plan that seemed ridiculous to start with succeed. He organized his remaining forces for the final assault into the city. The vampire formation marched hastly towards the opening in the captial.
Wilburg sense the defeat in white-haired guard. With the city's defenses crumbling, it would a depressing feeling for a man who spent his life defending what he would call his home. Well, the vampire didn't care because it was his now. Lifting his sword, he swung at the man's head, hoping to end his unhopelessness.
The duo continued their tango with the palalin but wasn't successful. The swordman missed his swing and instead hit the side of her armor with his arm. The maceman was slammed by her sheild but he moved his mace quick enough to block the blade before falling onto the ground. The swordman, seeing his partner on the ground, made another attempt at her by striking his sword at her back.
The squad leader laughed at the werecat's responce. "If you think you can stab me again, then go ahead attack. Otherwise, we can have a cup of tea together before our forces bring the ulimate destruction to this city." Clearly, the ginger was playing a careful fight against him, but he knew she couldn't keep a standstill forever because eventually Valmar's troops were going to swarm the area. "So, on guard?"
Meanwhile, the second group continued their work on the bridge. The swordman trusted his sword into the heart of the heart-helmet guard while the other vampire finished his feast and helped the brute out with bringing down the bridge. They needed to work fast before any reinforcements could come.

The white-haired guard was too distraught to notice the sword strike. His head struck the stone with a crack and rolled off slightly, as his body fell to its knees and hit the floor. Blood gushes from the severed veins, staining the white strands of his hair.
"No!" the dark-skinned guard cried, darting out past Wilburg in spite of his bruised tailbone and throbbing head. He collected the white-haired guard's head in his arms, staring at it with a mixture of horror, anguish, and disbelief. How could this happen? Why? "You monster..." he growled at Wilburg.

Zoshi saw the blade coming, but with her teeth gritting in determination, she didn't try to stop it. She couldn't keep fighting two at once like this. So she threw herself forward to sink her blade into the fallen vampire's throat instead. The blade hit her in the back, her plate metal absorbing much of the blow and bending because of it. The force caused her to lose her balance, falling forward.
