Ashemir leaned away when Analisia was giving him a glare that read that she wanted to rip his throat out. ..What had he said? He didn't word himself in an insulting way; usually when he did so, he came with the intent. And it wasn't as if werewolves were completely knowledgeable, either. Then he realized that he had used the term 'werewolf', and then he looked far more put together again. Well, then, they could just consider each other even. Although it was rather disappointing that the moment he started to feel more at ease, they were back on unfriendly terms. "Where do you draw that line then, between civilization and nature?"
Upon Travis' praise, Ashemir shifted slightly again. Up from when he had been alone in the world a second time, nothing of his saw the light of day, no less was spoken to others. He couldn't help but feel, and also kicked himself for feeling, self-conscious. "None of it is published. I never got around to it. And how could I explain the same name popping up over centuries? Unless it was changing, or a pen name taken up by different people..." He paused to think about it. "And then people might find out where I live," he grimaced. "I wouldn't want to be bothered like that, would you?"

Analisia sighed, the others had caught it. Markus was staring at her in a way that said he had a million questions. She shook her head and sighed again. "Yes, I am werewolf and he is vampire. Exactly why I would love to kill him..." Smirking, she looked back at Ashemir. "But he is being good so I cant. As for your question, Ashemir, I draw the line between Civilization and nature as when Humans try to level forests for their own purposes. Or when they over hunt in an area. They have their cities, they need to stick to them." She nods her head once as if to reaffirm that.
She didn't mind the few stares that had collected towards the table, she was used to it when people finally found out what she was.

Markus disappointedly scratched the search off his mental to-do list. He could understand the reasoning, but he still wished he could’ve read something else of Ashemir’s.
Apparently, Analasia had noticed his staring; she set everything straight: Mark and Travis were sharing a table with a werewolf and a vampire, and there wasn’t a fight yet. Mark felt oddly...normal, up until he remembered that he was technically about fifty-three years old. Then he fit right in.
“So, Travis,” he said, turning to the bounty-hunter with a smile, “looks like you...I mean, we’re awfully normal here.”

That would make sense why none of Ashemir's poems would be published. It would be hard for him keep his idenity hidden with such attention. Thus, in many respects, his poetry was more or less a hobby than actual paying job. Still, he wouldn't mind paying him for a few sonnets.
Analisia didn't seem too happy about revealing that she was a werewolf, and with good reason. She wasn't the type of person who wanted to bring attention to herself and having a werewolf in human society was an oddity in itself. Still, it didn't change Travis's opinion about her.
"Meh, nothing isn't exactly normal," replied Travis, "The only thing we could expect is the unexpected."

Ashemir grimaced again and glanced around when Analisia mentioned him being a vampire. "And I'd love to keep myself secluded, so if we had it our ways, we'd never even have to see each other, ever," he said the last with a magical tone in his voice, as though that would make the world itself a better place if their paths hadn't crossed. He blamed Valmar kicking him out, even though Ashemir was still headed for the same place as he had been previously.
He thought about providing some counter-arguments, just for the sake of being annoying, as to why humans would start expanding into the forest, but he figured that Analisia wouldn't appreciate them, especially from a vampire. ....But hell with it, it was too good not to yank her chain just a little. "Until their homes rot and they start wasting away from a lack of nutrients."
Ashemir glanced at Markus. Well, he was a traveling child. That wasn't normal. The blonde still wanted to poke him, maybe even smell him to make sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. It was getting quite maddening, actually.

"No, if we had it our ways we would both be dead by the other's hand. But in a way, I would be glad to never see your face again, so I figure that everything is good between us. But if we ever cross paths again, which sadly I think we shall, fate is ever unkind, just keep your teeth to yourself and our truce stands." She chuckles lightly, in all actuality, she didn't mind the vampire's conversation, and would enjoy seeing him again greatly, if only he were human. "As for human's homes rotting and such, that is their problem. If they built them properly, and raised fields in area's that they actually have already cut down and ruined, then they should be fine. But the forest is not their's to destroy." She looks over Travis and Markus, wondering if they would be offened, but thought better of it and stopped caring if they would or wouldn't be. They knew what she was now, and it was a relief that she no longer had to hide her true self, especially with Travis.

Expect the unexpected...Mark tiled his head, watching Travis. What could be unexpected about him? He was old enough (appearance-wise) to travel, he had a job, he was a plain old human...Ah well, it wasn’t a matter to ask about (at least, it wasn’t as long as he wanted to keep his own secret).
He nodded to the ranger and left it at that, instead turning to watch Analasia and Ashemir’s discussion of forests and homes. He noticed at one point that the vampire and the werewolf had each glanced over to him and Travis, so Mark put on his best ‘patient listener’ look and assumed they wouldn’t mind if he kept tabs on their chat.

He wasn't much a fan of inter-species politics, though he did agree with Analisia. He was a man who's lived most of his life in nature, and thus took much appreciation from the wilderness (which was probably why Analisia liked him in the first place). He was an advocate in preserving the forests, so future generations could enjoy their beauty. However, he also understood the idea of expansion, and as long the human race continues to populate, the more land they're going to need. It was one of the facts of life, but what could he do about it.
"I guess so long there is a good medium, everyone could be happy," stated the ranger.

"No... If we had it our ways, that moronic vampire wouldn't have harassed me and wouldn't have completely blown it with her complete lack of thought to disguise herself, and you wouldn't have even known that I was here," he said, still sounding incredibly annoyed by all of that. He tried to take comfort in the fact that her sloppiness would get her killed someday. Hopefully soon.
When Analisia mentioned it just being the humans' problem should their civilization fall into disrepair, Ashemir chuckled. If he had a drink, he would toast to that. But then Travis mentioned everyone being happy, and the vampire fell silent. He himself wanted to be left alone, but the rest of his kind would be left to be persecuted and hunted. And well, thinking more on it, maybe he didn't want to be entirely alone.... Ashemir looked at Markus, mostly just for a point of focus.

Analisia laughed when Ashemir mentioned the other vampire. It was absolutely true, what he said about the other one. She held out her hand to Ashemir, smiling. "Well met vampire, I guess not all of you are complete idiots. Just don't make me regret not killing you and I am sure we will get along just fine." She laughs again. Then turns to smile at Travis, it would seem as though he had no problem with her being a werewolf, which made everything even better.
Analisia was having a good time tonight, if only the vampire would take her hand as a sign of truce already. It would make it better. Who would have thought that she would ever like a vampire, and one that she had initially disliked. Things were looking up, which made her wary of when they might fall again.

Shortly after Mark had started to watch, the forest-chat ended. He could only hope it wasn’t his fault, but Ashemir was staring...Oh, yeah, it was probably all his fault. Mark would have asked to make sure, had Analasia not chosen just that moment to initiate a truce-creating handshake. Mark knew a lot of things; not all things, but he knew that the beginning of a truce handshake was a terrible time to ask someone why they were staring at you.
Instead, he mumbled an almost inaudible apology, immediately looking away. Ever curious, he set his gaze on the trusty back-wall mirror. He had to hunch forward over his cider to get the right angle, but it worked. (It might have looked a bit odd for him to be leaning over and plainly staring at the mirror, but it worked.)

For the most part, everyone seemed to be getting along. It's kind of funny to think about it, but a vampire, a werewolf, and two humans were able to have a civil discussion. It would seem like a glorious accomplishment for inerspecies relations, only if the world was more like this, that maybe they'll be less conflict to deal with . Now only if a werecat would join in...that was pushing it. Still, the ranger was having a nice time.
"So Ashemir, do have any place to stay? I understand your situation, and even though I may not trust your kind, I would feel bad if you were left out in the cold."

Ashemir raised a brow when Markus looked guilty. Oh, wait. "Don't mind me, it's not your fault," he said, finally braving a reach over to pat the child's shoulder in comfort. Glancing briefly at the mirror on the wall, his attention was diverted to Analisia again, who seemed to want the security of a handshake. Why? It wasn't as though handshakes meant much. But if just to appease her, he cautiously grasped her hand in his cool and slender own.
Thinking more on Zephyr just made Ashemir angrier, which only showed through a slight hardening of his features. He was punished for listening into a completely innocuous conversation, and yet Zephyr was not for waltzing around practically throwing hints of the vampires' plan to strangers? Maybe Valmar should be more knowledgeable in who he should be punishing. At least his 'offense' was still well within the circle of vampire politics, and not tipping off everyone else to the vampires' well-hidden (well, now less so) schemes.
He came out of his internal rant when Travis asked him if he had a place to stay. He would feel bad?? Ashemir furrowed his brows just slightly. "In a few days, I should be alright. But for tonight, no, I do not." ...Why?? Well, he figured he had an answer to the first why, but 'why' to that why??

Analisia took his hand, shook it firmly, then released it. Touching him made her skin crawl, stupid instincts. When she pulled her hand away, she heard Travis ask Ashemir if he had a place to stay. She smirked inwardly and shook her head. She trusted Ashemir about as far as she could throw him, and she was sure that wasn't very far even with her strength. She went back to listening, wondering if Ashemir would take Travis' offer to stay with him, since that was obviously where that was leading to.
Then she thought about Markus, he would do fine since he was staying here. Which made her glad, she definately wouldnt want the young man to travel with a vampire, nor did she want to babysit him if that did indeed happen. She turned to look at him and smiled. "You seem to be very curious youngling, did you have any questions that you wanted to ask? Since both times you have started talking the others and myself have been diverted. Feel free to ask anything, it has been a few years since anyone has learned of what I am, so I might as well explain it to those who finally know." She chuckles and smiles warmly, she wouldnt mind feeding the young man's obvious curiousity, especially since he seemed so calm to accept what she and Ashemir were.

A pat on his shoulder brought Markus away from the mirror and back to the table, comforted by the assurance that it wasn’t his fault and that a werewolf and a vampire had successfully made a truce. All was well.
While Travis and Ashemir discussed boarding for the night (Mark wasn’t much interested in that; he had a place to stay), Mark eagerly accepted Analasia’s offer for questions. Sure, he’d read plenty of books, but you couldn’t trust everything. A first-hand source would always be best. “What do werewolves usually do?” he asked. “I mean, know you’re a woodswoman, but do a lot of werewolves help out with the forests or do they have other jobs?”
At the risk of interrupting the lodging question, Mark turned to Ashemir and hoped the vampire was open to a question or two as well. He was curious; according to legend, vampires could live for centuries without aging at all. It was an intereting trait, one that Markus to relate to. (He’d almost wished he could meet more vampires, just to find someone in the same boat as him. Almost. Ashemir’s kindness was either an oddity or inspired by Analasia and Travis.) “Ashemir...Vampires live a long time, right? If you don’t mind my asking, how old are you?”
And just in case Travis might have felt left out... “And Mister Huntman, what kind of criminals do you catch? All kinds? Have you tracked anyone down recently?”
