Shadi nodded, more than happy to steer them out of the capital before it was burned down. With a gentle click of his tongue, Koalin was urged forward, heading down the nearest alley to keep clear of anyone else. Shadi wasn't sure what Lorin being prince would mean after the vampires took over, but he'd bet it meant something to a lot of his people, regardless of some rapant blood suckers. It seemed like a good idea to let the red head mull things over himself, and he instead directed his attention to just getting them clear of this place without being spotted.

Seriah paused, gesturing to Longsword, “Find the other vampires, and make sure they take anyone of note in the castle that isn't already dead or turned prisoner. We're going to need some help figuring out where the prince would go to hide.” In the mean time, he'd just have to hope Lorin wasn't able to get past Valmar's soldiers. Either way, he wasn't taking any risks.
Longsword didn't look pleased being resorted to a messenger, but she bowed, and ran the opposite direction down the hall to find the others.
That taken care of, Seriah continued down the hall, the direction Lorin had been coming from when they'd first run into the boy. He'd be disappointed if any of the other vampires had found the king first. It only seemed right he be the one to end things. He eventually found what he believed was the poor ill kings room, and pulled the door open. He wasn't sure how many guards they'd have on a dying man, but it was the peoples king, after all.
~~~~~
“... She's my responsibility, I would look after her as long as she'd let me.” Her grip on her fans tightened when it seemed Arzen would once again go after locket, “Our ability to live is dependent on humanity surviving. We can't stop the killing, but unlike your people, we don't wish for your destruction. We'll work it out.” She narrowed her eyes when he suddenly dropped his hands, not willing to believe he'd give up. “I... I'm Christian. Or as close to Christian as this could be considered. I don't think I can kill you. If you're surrendering, I'm sure you'll be treated fairly.” Would he really surrender, though? Was he really done?
~~~~~~
This time he wasn't able to block the swing, and the captain's sword slid through Shield's neck's neck, until it met with the vampire's clavical. Shocking on blood, Shield peeled his lips back from his teeth, snarling at Banez, while letting go of the shield with one hand to grabbed the blade, and attempted to yank it free of bone and throat before he drowned in his own blood.

The prince still had to be in the castle... and the more eyes searching, the better. Granted, he was glad that he did have to run to be Seriah's errand boy, but then again, he was sure that the warlord would save him for.. other tasks. Ashemir followed Seriah to the suspected room, looking in when the door was opened.

It seemed that the king had sent his guards away, to aid with the invasion or some other task, or just to keep them from suffering the same fate as the blonde guard. His gaze traveled to the vampires, picking out their identify from their lack of uniform, and his tired face managed to reflect a spark of defiance and regality. "So this how it ends... finished off by a pack of unholy beasts," he spat, before going into a fit of coughs which left him breathless.

"Work it out? And how on earth does one work out a thing like murder?" Arzen asked, a hollow laugh escaping him. He fell to his knees with a light splash, pressing his hands into the water that used to hold so much comfort to him. Yet where was that comfort now? His muscles trembled slightly and his gaze snapped up when she said she was a Christian. "If you are a Christian, why would you spread your suffering so?" Then he glanced away. "And what would be considered fair? To be turned into a vampire as she was? Was that fair?" His hand raised to press against the stinging wound on his chest. He drew a shaking breath. "It seems the bishop was right when he said he questioned my conviction." His hand returned to the water with a splash. "I can't bring myself to kill either of you. Even when the Church says God would command it. I can only hope that He will forgive me for my failure."

Banez roared in response to the snarl. Instead of trying to recover his sword, he yanked it away and threw it down, letting it skitter across the floor. The captain dropped his shield, and his hands went immediately for Shield's wound, fingers digging into the slice and tearing it as much as the knight was capable of.

Seriah walked slowly into the room, stopping at the side of the king's bed, to watch the man cough. He kept his voice quiet, as if his words were only for the king, though any of the vampires had good enough hearing to listen. “You brought this on yourself. I'll see to it the Granidell line never holds the throne again.” He drew his blade, holding it over the king's heart, “My name is Seriah Desislov, and yes, this is how it ends.” He plunged the blade down through the man's chest, forcing it deep enough that he may very well cut into the bed on the other side.
~~~~~
Purple Eyes watched Arzen finally drop to his knees, a tight feeling in her chest just getting tighter. It was guilt, but a guilt she could live with. “We do not need to turn you into a vampire.” She bent down, reaching out to touch one of his hands, though she expected he'd probably pull away, “The battle field is not the right place for a priest. I suggest you keep certain abilities to yourself, and perhaps you can continue with your job and your life. Now more than ever your people need the guidance of their priests. Let us find a way to work together, even if its an imperfect form.” She looked towards Locket, as once again Arzen had called attention to her turning, “No, you're right, it's not fair. Nothing is fair. But this war was declared by humans and the werefolk before I was even born. Everyone's just upset we're actually fighting back.”
Locket whimpered from where she was once again sitting against the wall. The sound didn't seem to be related to anything being said, though.
~~~~~
Shield let out a rather wet, choked scream as the captain got his fingers into the wound in his throat. The skin began to tear away with the knight's pulling, stretching into an ever more gaping wound, with ample blood pouring free. Shield dropped his own weapon, clawing at Bane'z arm, though his nails met with mostly armor. His struggling grew weaker as more blood poured free, until his hands dropped and his head lulled back.

Fuh. If the king wanted to go out offensively, then fine. Less guilt on their end. That coupled with the king's cough caused Ashemir to wrinkle his nose. What a pathetic man.... The least he could have done was go gracefully.

"Your name matters little compared to what you are, sinner. Find some degree of comfort in this new hell, while knowing that you're delivering your enemies to paradise," the king said. But from the vampire's words, he still held onto the hope that that boy was able to escape, which made the blade sinking into his chest just a little easier to take. He refrained from making any undignified sounds, only exhaling a final breath after a few moments.

Arzen stared at the hand as it touched his. So cold... That hand was so cold... His own clenched into fists and the trembling continued. "And will your warlord really allow us all to go on with our lives?" he had to wonder quietly. What would the people even do? Would they just quietly submit? "Are the people even safe?" He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment before looking over as Locket whimpered. He was quiet before he asked, "What's your name, child?"

Banez panted heavily when Shield stopped moving, but in barely a moment's time he turned and rushed to reclaim his sword. He returned to Shield, kneeling down and grasping the vampire's black hair to bare his injured neck. The captain then began hacking furiously into Shield's neck, severing through his spine after several blows. Parting the head entirely, Banez threw it down to the side, pausing to regain his breath now that he was sure that the vampire was down permanently. But there was no time.. he had to find Prince Lorin. The captain took up his sword and shield again wearily. There was little chance he would make it through another fight, but he started rushing down the halls, hurrying to go and check the royal chambers first.

Seriah watched the king for the span of a few heart beats, listening to his breath leave him, and his weak heart break apart. He wrapped his fingers back around the decorated pomel, and drew the blade from the king's chest. “Then rest in paradise.” He mumured, before drawing the blanket up over the king's head.
~~~~~
"If there is harmony to be found, I believe he'll try to find it, or I wouldn't be here." She had been promised, like so many others, that this was a chance to live as something better, to regain some semblance of a life.
Locket blinked large blue eyes at the priest, before pressing a hand to her ruined mouth. She could already fear a hunger burning through her, and she understood without being told that if she drank, the damage to her face and mouth could be healed. It seemed a hefty price. Hand trembling, she dipped a finger in the water, before drawing on the wall, "A-N-N-A L-U-C-I-A".
Well... that was the end of that, although the king's last words grated in him. Even in death to be so self-righteous.... One of the few things keeping Ashemir's expression neutral was the possibility that the king's hope for existence after death naught. Then he heard the faint clatters of someone hurriedly approaching, which finally drew a dark chuckle from the blonde. What a surprise for them to find that they were too late.
Arzen watched her write on the wall. "I beg you to please forgive me, Anna." His eyes dropped to the ground and he was silent for a time. His eyes moved to Anna again as he wondered how long it would be before she was forced to take the life of another for her own. He felt his insides squirming with guilt. "I have no choice but to just put my faith in this vampire leader. What else can I do?" He closed his eyes again. "May God have mercy on us all."
Banez hoped to God that Lorin had been able to escape. After he would check the royal chambers, the captain would find the secret passageway that they had agreed for the prince to take. Hopefully Lorin had gotten that far, but Banez wasn't about to go there first only to find that he had left the prince fighting a vampire alone somewhere between there and his chambers. Lord only knew what those monsters would do to the boy. Augh... his arm and his stomach were killing him...
...Was the king's room open? The captain slowed, a cold sense of dread filling him. They didn't.... Banez hurriedly approached the doorway, only to see that the gang of vampires were still there, with their leader in the room and the king's body still, crimson now staining his sheets. "No!" the knight barked in despair.
