Lorin gasped and cringed when he was suddenly grabbed. When addressed by his other name, he froze up for a moment before he looked to his guide. A look of recognition washed over him as he remembered the blonde from the Dragon's Keep tavern, but what was Shadi doing in the castle? Even though the other was unknown to him, Lorin hurried down the hall with him, throwing his head over his shoulder when the stone of the castle was crashing down behind them. Wait, what? Suddenly the realization dawned on him, and his wide gaze returned to Shadi, "You're a stone mage??"

"I do not think of her as a monster. She is dead. And it is my duty to ease her passage." Arzen stumbled back at the sudden slap, not expecting it, but managed to scramble back in time to dodge the slash, feeling the air current the metal caused as it passed by. That was a close one... "You speak to me as if her becoming a vampire was just a twist of fate. As if you had no hand in it." He continued on his way back to put distance between them.
He made a motion with his hand, starting to gather the water from the floor. He made a slashing motion and covered the floor in a thin, slippery sheet of ice. He took off one of the crosses he wore before kissing it and holding it before him. "The grace of Our Lord will not let me fall to you."

Shadi continued to pull Lorin with him as quickly as possible, answering with a chuckle despite the dire situation, "Yes, yes I am." He didn't release the redhead's hand until they reached the end of the hall. Using both hands, he gently pushed forward, the stone groaning as the castle was once again unsettled. The large blocks of stone making up the wall slide back, parting for the pair to pass out of the hall, and into the courtyard. "And you're a noble?"

The kick knocked into Banez' greave, jostling the armor plates but protecting his kneecap. So that was how it was going to be?? Banez tended to have more honor than this, but for a vampire, THIS vampire, he supposed he could suspend it for a moment. The knight swiftly delivered his own kick, hard right into Shield's crotch. He'd be better without it anyway.

Seriah hesitated at the cloud of rubble falling from the ceiling where the hall diverged into a second hall. He glanced up where the stone had been ripped away from its resting place, before stepping quickly through the rubble and settling dust, and racing down the hall, until he was forced to stop abruptly at halls end. There was no trace of Lorin to the left or right, and only solid rock ahead.
Had he really been that close to the heir, only to let him slip through his fingers? A cold anger grip him, and turned towards the wall, slamming his fist against it and crumbling a small section of stone under his knuckles.
“Well,” He turned back down the hall where he and Ashemir had come from, running his thumb over the small cuts on his knuckles punching a stone wall had left, as he continued in his usual controlled tone, despite the contrary actions, “I think we should pay our respects to the king.”
~~~~~
“Her death is my sin.” Purple eyes replied, guiltily. “And if you end her, it will also be yours. Vampire's have no soul, there is nothing left for you to ease. Your lamb is lost, shepherd.” She certainly couldn't pretend she wasn't damned, but she'd made herself take Locket's life, she wasn't going to let the priest make her action meaningless. As the ground beneath her turned to slick ice, she jerked, trying to keep her feet under her.
She lifted her gaze from the icy ground, to the priest as he held the cross out towards her. Snarling, she shifted her weight, and kicked towards his torso. Her other foot slipped on the ice, making it more likely for her to kick his outstretched arm, or simply go wide.
~~~~~ Shield growled an expletive as Banez kicked him squarely in the crotch, forcing the vampire to limp backwards a few feet, and nearly sinking to the floor in pain. It really doesn't matter if you're a vampire, a werewolf, or a human, no man was immune to that move. Shield struggled to straighten himself back up, but seemed to be having trouble recovering as quickly as he wanted too. Fucking knights, and their fucking armor...

Ashemir skittered back at first when the ceiling dropped down. What the hell was that? The blonde stepped a bit more carefully through the fallen stone, rushing down the hall behind Seriah. But when there was nothing but a dead-end, Ashemir's momentum quickly dropped, leaving him standing several feet behind Seriah and looking more than a little confused. The prince had gone down this hall; he saw it. So where was he? There wasn't another one of those invisible cloaks, the one that fucking Valmar had, right? A quick scent of the air only revealed the faint smells of two humans, but nothing strong was around.
In his focused state, the CRACK of Seriah punching the wall caused Ashemir to jump in surprise and take a wary step back. His gaze left the warlord, as though not acknowledging the anger would make it go away. Well, it did, on the outside, as Seriah seemed to recover and make plans for the king. Ashemir nodded, looking back to Seriah. He did not envy the king right now....

Lorin hurried through the makeshift passageway that Shadi had created, blinking in the bright light and taking in the distant sounds of battle from the city. The vampire was right; his city was going to fall. And he was running away. Coward... "Yes... Well... I'm the prince," he admitted to Shadi quietly. In circumstances such as this, there was no point in keeping such things secret anymore.

"If there was nothing left to ease then there would be nothing left for me to kill," Arzen replied quietly. The church preached that vampires were damned the moment they were created, but that did not entirely fit with his way of thinking. Was it wrong? Was it wrong to believe that the soul was not damned until it strove to make others sin? Yet if they weren't damned then why did the cross cause them so much pain? Perhaps he was just being a wishful fool then. His thoughts were interrupted when the cross went flying as his arm was kicked, he watched it skitter across the icy floor. He slid himself back, eyes narrowing at the vampire. "Vampires are damned. Vampires have no souls. These are nothing but excuses! Excuses for you to sin and to make others sin! God's gift to the races was to give them souls that enabled them to have free will. Vampires still have that free will! It is just that by their will they choose to kill!" His hand lowered to his chest, pressing against his wound for a moment, eyes burning. He couldn't last against this vampire forever. She needed to just... go away.

Without missing a beat, Banez quickly took the steps that Shield gave. The guard captain wasn't particularly proud of himself for that maneuver, but it wasn't as though vampires gave his company any sort of fairness at the mountain! His arming sword whistled through the air as he aimed a strike for the perverted vampire's neck.

Shadi paused, looking back at the red head, clearly needing a second to wrap his head around the warp in identity. Well, he did know the prince was a red head, but... “I'll... catch up on my bowing when we're not in imminent danger.” Shadi grabbed his horses reins, who regarded the pair with what might have been exasperation, as if she'd been impatiently waiting for them both. He climbed into the saddle, before offering TierLorin a hand up. “Don't worry, I can get us out of here. You can worry about what to do about this place after that.” He wasn't sure if a horse could outrun a vampire, but so far most of the violence seemed to be focused closer to the gate... they just needed to move quickly, and since he could make exists out of dead ends, they might just slip under the vampire's radar.

Seriah passed Ashemir, expecting the other to continue to follow, and not quite feeling he had the temperament to say anything farther. He walked through the rubble, finding the other vampires having... finished.. with the blonde guard, and come to the mouth of the split hall. Wisely no one commented on the lack of red head, though Longsword looked a bit smug.
“Come.” Seriah commanded, turning to continue down the hall the way they'd originally all been going.
~~~~~~
Purple Eyes floundered to get both feet on the ice, and her gravity centered. Arms still wobbling at her sides, she replied, “Does it even matter if I'm a vampire or a soldier. I took a life in a time of war, and made a new child for my side. It is no more immoral than any death at a human soldier's hands. I need no excuse of vampirism, or damnation. My sins are mine, but this is war.” Regaining some of her grace, she spread her hands, “I ask only that you not claim you murder that child in the name of saving her soul. If you claim she is still innocent, then it is an innocent you are killing. If she is not innocent, than killing her eases no soul to your lord, and you had best stop lying to her that you simply wish to ease her pain.”
~~~~~
Shield tried to twist away, still in pain in certain sensative areas, leading Banez's blade to cut deeply into the vampires shoulder. Shield snarled, forced to scrambled back towards the opposite wall, before using the wall as he regained his footing. Blood was welling up from his shoulder, now, and his leg was slick with blood from the wound to his thigh, making Banez's throat look that much more attractive.

Ashemir followed obediently, glancing up at the ceiling as they walked through the rubble to make sure the rest of the structure wouldn't come down on them. After returning to the group, the blonde cut off an 'rrk' sound at the sight of the blonde guard, unused to such brutality when it came to killing humans when he had lived his most of his life in secret. After glancing away, his brows narrowed at Longsword's expression. What the hell was he so smug about? But he didn't comment, instead turning to follow Seriah down the hall.

"At this point, I don't think my status even matters anymore...." Well, except for monsters wanting to kill him, or whatever they wanted him for. He didn't want to think about what they would want him for... The redhead took Shadi's hand, pulling himself onto the horse and taking a glance over his shoulder at the castle. This place... this place was his home. And what was going to happen to everyone that lived here? What about Banez, or Lysand, or Brenthor? "Let's just go..." he said miserably, resting his forehead against Shadi's back. "And thank you..."

"Made... a child?" Arzen took a step back, staring at her for a moment. "Then are you to act as her mother? Are you going to guide her and protect her from harm? And then what happens when the war is over? When the castle has fallen and the vampires rule all... What will your killings be then?" He took another step back, gaze going to Locket. He reached up, taking some of the ice from the floor, beginning to form a sharp shard with it. However, a moment later, he let it shatter. He lifted his hands and let them fall, spreading them, the ice on the ground reverting to a puddle. "And what of me? Are you going to kill me? Are you to slaughter me now that I've realized that I cannot bring myself to enforce the church teachings?"

Banez was on Shield as the vampire stumbled back, his mind going into an enraged darkspawn-killing autopilot. He swung his sword for Shield's chest and neck, breath coming heavy now that the fight had gone on for an extended period of time and now that he was using all his energy.
