Aria leaned against the stone that made up the waterfall entry way, her arms crossed over her chest and her face bearing a sullen, resentful expression. Her golden eyes were narrowed, following the Werewolf Kahjit Sekani wherever he moved, her fingers flexing unconsciously.
"So," she said coldly, "you wanted to lead an investigation. I'm merely here to trail you. Where do you want to go?"

Kahjit was silent for a long moment, feeling starkly alone- the ambassador's gaze offering little ease- with the rest of the wolves gone. He turned his mismatched eyes toward's Aria, before drawing his resolve back up. When she asked where he wanted to start, he had to admit to himself he had no idea where to begin. So he did what any man with no idea where to go does, he asked for directions pointed dramatically toward the Glade, and informed her, "That way." With any luck he'd be able to pick up Yeszlin's scent as he went.. it was sure to stand out amongst all this cat. "If some werecat's took her without your or Chief Cheveyo's knowledge, they'd need somewhere enclosed to keep her. Is there anything like that, that you can think of?"

Rolling her eyes at the Captain's lack of direction, Aria shrugged herself off of the rock and headed toward it. When he asked her where she thought his missing pup might be, the Ambassador's thoughts flashed mentally to her underwater caves, the only spot she could think of that was secret and enclosed. Another Werecat would have a hell of a time dragging a limp or struggling body through there, though.
"Perhaps," she said slowly, unwanting to show this mutt her childhood hideout. "But that requires a swim. There are a few caves in there," she gestured briefly to the rock pool, "our tents are out that way," here she indicated a mass of erected lodgings in the distance, "and the rest is, for the most part, trees. But if your Ambassador is anywhere around, you should be able to pick up on her scent trail."

Squinting, he could only just tell the difference between what was tree and what was tent. "Let's start with the caves. It'd be difficult to restrain a full grown werewolf in a tent without any other werecats noticing." If they didn't already know she was there, that was. Either way, cave's sounded more promising. He started in the direction she'd pointed out, the smell of water mixing with the wilds, and even the scent of werecat were all quite pleasant together, though he'd have so preferred any trace of Yeszlin. "Not if someone found a way to cover her trail."

Aria shrugged stiffly. "Fair enough. If it means anything, this is monumental waste of your time. It would have come to my, or Chey's, attention if there was a Werewolf here. Someone would have spotted her being dragged in."
She stepped into the pool, ripples fleeing from her form as she walked down the sandy incline. Nearly waist deep she paused, waited for him. "You're certain she didn't just...run away from home? Take a vacation?" Werewolf culture was so different from theirs- if someone in Feryn went missing, most likely it was chalked up to be Werecat spirit calling them away to some midlife-crisis like adventure. It was usually several days, if not weeks, before a search was carried out, and that was usually only if an official had missed an appointment of some kind.
Without waiting for him to answer, Ari gestured at the dark hole near the bottom of the pool. "There's a rather large network of underwater tunnels and caves through there. We can search it, if you feel we need to, in which case I'll let you lead the way. To save us both some time, though, I find it highly unlikely that her captor would be able to drag a body through that tunnel and swim with it underwater. But as I said, if you feel the need, go right ahead, I'll be right behind you."

Kahjit bristled, his hazy voice thickening some as he replied, "She wouldn't just run off. Her things were discarded on the ground, and her blood... There was obviously a scuffle." He narrowed his eyes at her, unable to keep the blame from his expression. If a werewolf couldn't be here without her and Cheveyo knowing, than they probably DID know. How werecat's could be so unconcerned by each other was far beyond his understanding. Even humans could exist in such close quarters and yet be so disconnected, it seemed like a lonely world.
He stepped into the water, watching the ripples his movement caused until they lead his eyes to the darker spot beneath the water that formed the mouth of the caverns. Rather than indulge her insistence that he was wasting his time, he just took a breath and dove into the water. With quick strokes he took himself to the opening of the interworking of caverns, before glancing back to make sure Aria was indeed following. Assuming he did, he'd continue through the passage until the water would give way to air.

"Stupid mutt," Aria breathed when Kahjit submerged. This was a brilliant waste of time- they hadn't very long, after all, to resolve this useless issue before they needed to be in Tiaelde with Captain Gladpath. And not to mention Yina- this was a distraction, she was sure, from the real issue at hand. Feeling a flare of anger, Aria took a breath and submerged, following Kahjit through the opening.
At the next opening, there were a few options of where to go; tapping his foot, Aria pointed the Werewolf in the direction of the left foremost chamber, swimming off toward it and emerging in the small, glowing chamber she had taken Amizade only weeks before.
"As you can see," she said, pulling her hair pack and anticipating Kahjit to emerge, "there's not much room. This is only one chamber- there are countless many- but go ahead and sniff around in here. Its an entire cavern back there, too, above ground," she nodded to the narrow shelf, "but it's sort of small."

Kahjit broke through the water after her, looking around the glowing chamber a bit wide eyed. He pulled his focus back to Aria when she started speaking. "Is it big enough to drag a person through?" Of course, he couldn't just go where she directed him, or he'd never get an accurate search... He shook his head slightly, bobbing up and down as he tread water.

(XD No worries...this is a sort of awkward thread XD...."so yeah, Feryn's really big, and you're not going to find her, 'cause she's not here, and btw I hate you because you're a wolfie, and I'm going to be all pissy about Yina." ....there's only so much that can be said/done in here, I feel like XD)
Aria shrugged. "As I said, I would have been surprised if anyone could drag another through the underwater tunnels. Besides, couldn't you smell her if she were here?"
I'm not taking him any further in unless he insists, she decided, irritated. The tunnels got much smaller, to small to drag a body though, and her patience was waning- she wanted action, not to babysit the wolves' Guard Captain while he chased his own tail. But she didn't want to go back to Yina, either- she shoved the images away, feeling like she had been struck in the stomach when they floated to the foremost of her mind.
"If you're done here," her tone had dropped back to being hostile and cold, "we can leave. The tunnels get much smaller and more difficult to swim through, there is no way anyone would be able to swim through them while dragging another."

(X3 We have to trudge through the socially awkwardness)
Kahjit looked at Aria, then back around the chamber. At the information that a body couldn't have been dragged deeper through, he might as well have looked like a kicked puppy. He pressed a hand to his forehead. "I couldn't smell her scent through the water.. and if they covered it up somehow..." Rather than go back, he looked at Aria once more, his expression unable to make up its mind if it should be accusatory or pleading. "If she really isn't in Feryn, where could she be? We'd have to scour the countryside to find her." What mad person but a werecat would even think to waltz into their territory?

Aria chuckled mirthlessly, darkly, countering his impossible question with one of her own. "If you wolves truly didn't desecrate Yina, who would?"
A moment of silence passed between them through which, despite Aria's smoldering hate she had been so happy to pin on the wolves, the Werecat couldn't help but feel they shared mutual desperation and pain. She was watching his face closely, looking for any signs of guilt- she wanted to, to shift the sadness to vengeful anger, pin them for the massacre. Yet the longer she stayed away from the site of the mess, the longer she did not place glassy eyes to the overbearing mixture of death and Werewolf reek, the more doubtful she became. Yina had been sacred to them, as well- she had spent more than one peaceful, candle-lit vigil in the presence of Wolves there- why would they destroy something that close to them, only to seek revenge for something the Werecats might have done.
"We should get back," Aria said quietly and, without waiting for an answer, slid under the water.

Werecats? Vampires? Humans? Some sick individuals that would pay in blood for their actions. But he didn't know how to go about voicing the options, impossible to pick one or understand any. Maybe Harrier and Cheveyo would have better luck.
Kahjit hesitated, but after a mounrful breath, dove after Aria. The water of the pool was much clearer than swimming in the ocean, and though he could only see so far, it was still an amazing sight. It was hard to imagine a werecat dragging a body into those beautiful caverns, even if it might be a logical place to hide one. He'd just have to believe that Aria was right. No one could have pulled her body through there. She was alive, being quietly kept somewhere else, waiting for her pack to find her. He broke the surface, sucking in a deep lungful of air as he waited for the ambassador.

Aria emerged; treading water for a minute, she pulled herself out, wringing out her hair.
"Anywhere else you would like to search?" she asked wearily, suddenly feeling emotionally exhausted. "I can take you around the dwellings and into the trees, but unless she's in one of the tents, I doubt you're going to find her here."

Kahjit pulled himself out after Aria, shakking his short black hair, and letting that spray water away. He ignored the feeling of wet clothes sticking to his skin, and nodded towards the tents, "We have to look everywhere. If.. If I don't smell her, I'll return to Naulus to wait for the others." He supposed the likelihood of the werecat's innocence was bolstered by the mere fact that she hadn't tried to drown him in the cavern. It didn't really prove anything, but he was generally happy not to be drowned. He started in the tents direction, asking, "Have any werecat's ever gone missing like this?"

"Not exactly," Aria said shortly, "our people don't hang around very long. Mothers with cubs tend to hang around Feryn, but as soon as the cubs grow up they usually branch out on their own."
She nodded to a passerby, who looked bewildered by Kahjit scent. "That being said, there are always accidents. But, no, not in my years of experience, we have never had something like this happen."
Curious faces were peering out of the tents, nose wrinkled at the foreign, unpleasant smell of wet dog. A few of them hissed- news of Yina had begun spreading, slowly, through the camp. Aria began feeling uncomfortable; her authority would mean little if her people were angry enough to act on vengeance. They would not care for the political ramifications.
She did not mention this to the wolf, however.
