Tigers, by nature, liked water. Aria, having the familiar of a tiger, was no exception. Seeing as many of the other Werecats were not big on swimming, it was not uncommon for the Ambassador to slip into the pool at Feryn's entry and disappear into its depths for a while, seeking solace.
At least, it wasn't when she was little. Now, much older, busier, and a good deal more stressed, Aria found she didn't have time to indulge in this simple pleasure. Having just returned from Cados, however, and having apparently missed Chey, the Ambassador found herself with a few hours to spare.
Kicking off of the pool's sandy bottom, Aria broke the surface of the water and sucked in a deep breath, pulling her dark hair out of her eyes and glancing around, a contented smile shadowing her lips.
(Well, that was a good load of pigeon shit. Your turn!)

Amizade smiled at the Werecat Ambassador, she too liked swimming, just not in public. Amizade was definitely a solitary creature but felt a deep loyalty to Aria. The Were's blades were on the shore of the rock pool, probably not the best thing to do but Ami felt safe here "Hello Ambassador." Ami was never sure what to call Aria. Ambassador? Ambassador Aria? M'lady? None of those sounded right in Amizade's mouth. Why couldn't she just call her Aria? Did the other people in the Werecat council call her Aria? Ami didn't know. She hoped she'd know soon though, maybe after she became captain. Maybe, she had a lot of bad things going for her. First off Ami's past was questionable. A paid assassin, doesn't sound like the most loyal person does it? See in the young Werecat's eyes she saw herself as the best candidate for the Captain job, just because of her past job. Amizade sighed, waiting for the Ambassador's response and dangling her bare feet in the water.

Aria smiled, her mind whirring frantically. Shit, she thought guiltily. This sometimes happened; being the Ambassador, many knew her, while she did not know or recognize them. Pulling a damp strand of hair out of her eyes, her smile shifted to a faintly sheepish grin.
"I'm sorry," she admitted. "I'm really awful with faces and names. And it's Aria." Sculling over to the edge of the pool, she climbed up onto one of the rocks directly across from where the woman sat, toying absently with the bangles on her wrists. "I'm only Ambassador Talei when there's trouble, I'm in trouble, or some other races are around."

Amizade last "Okay Aria. I'm Amizade. I'm one of the applicants for the Captain's job?" Ami looked at the water. There was still small ripples " I do apologize at the intrusion." Ami made a move to leave "I can go, if you want me to?" The woman reached down and picked up her katanas.
ooc// Epic FAIL!

"Oh, right." Aria had taken a brief look at the applicants for Captain- as she had had other matters on her mind, however, she hadn't paid enough attention to log the names and faces away, as she most likely should have. "Sorry, Amizade- good luck with that." She smiled.
"And, no, you're not intruding. Please stay- is there anything I can help you with, or do you just enjoy swimming, as well?"

Ami sat again "Not really I was just walking. Kind of my own personal patrol and I saw movement in the water, I figured something was up so I came to investigate." Amizade put her feet in the water again "I do love swimming, very much so. Your familiar is a Tiger correct? You swim like one." Amizade flicked the water with her foot, causing bigger ripples "I sometimes wish that my familiar was a tiger. I have a fairly small cat compared to most." The Werecat laughed. She did love her form very much, but it just didn't have the initial "Shock" factor in battle, so most of the time she tried to stay in her human form. She was much more intimidating in Human form with her two slender and deadly Katanas, more precious to her than her own claws they were.

Aria smiled, deciding to take her finesse in the water compared to her form as a compliment. "It is. And I have to admit, it can be useful- the biggest feline does help in cases where brute strength is needed. As for your form, be proud. Each has a different strength and ability. Size does not always equal ability."
She slid back into the water, childishly blowing bubbles in the pool's surface. Blissfully distancing herself from work, Amizade was granted a brief glimpse into Aria's less aggravated, more mellow self. Being such, she was far more open.
"Fancy a swim? I want to visit somewhere I used to go."

Amizade blinked and smiled "Sure why not?" The solider took off her shoes, shin guards and over coat before slipping into the water. Ami swam all the way to Aria under water and popped back up right at her side, "Where are we going Aria?" That felt better on her tongue, mayhaps it was because she hadn't been granted the access to the "Life of the Council" before this that she just wanted to relish it "How long has it been since you've been to this place?"

Aria was now grinning broadly, feeling like a cub. She had lost touch with most of her childhood friends- it was a rare, exhilarating feeling. "Since I was very young," she said vaguely, her tone poorly hiding her excitement. "I hope you can hold you breath- follow me."
With that she took a breath and submerged, kicking down through the clear water to a large chink cut out of the rock. It was a small, claustrophobic tunnel that led out into a dark pool- trusting Amizade was fast on her heels, she took a sharp curve to the left, which opened into a pocket of still water and a bubble of air.
The air here tasted damp- as the Werecat broke the surface, treading water, she was pleased to find not much had changed. There was a slit in the ceiling, allowing a shaft of pale light to cut in across the pool, illuminating it with an unearthly glow. Around the walls was a shallow shelf, littered with shining stones that shimmered and pulsed strangely in the dark. No one had accurately explained what made these jewels glow, but Aria had always known them as "Soul Stones".
"It's small," Aria said when Amizade surfaced, "but there are small caves that go way back. I used to come here all the time, my friends and I would pretend to be chased by Vampires in the dark." She hoisted herself up into the shelf, having to crouch slightly. Her excitement would, most likely, not be mirrored in her companion's views, but she was excited, nonetheless, to have someone to show her childhood to.
"What did you like to do, when you were a cub? The underwater labyrinth goes way further in, there's actually a way to get under the entrance way and out of Feryn, but this was always my favorite spot."

Ami pulled herself up next to Aria before she spoke "I liked to watch my dad fight." She looked around the room, she was especially fond of the stones, they seemed to know her past in their shining depths. But that was impossible right? Yes it was "That was always my favorite thing to do. I was the youngest out of four so I got to see my siblings fight too. I remember we used to have 'family fight night.' " Amizade laughed at the memory "At that time all of the armor and swords were too big for me so I tended to lose the matches a lot." The Werecat pursed her lips and looked over the water "Dad never gave up on me though. Always saying that I was going to be the best in the family and that if I wasn't a fighter that I would be a scholar." Ami smiled, almost oblivious of Aria next to her now as her memories took her deeper "I studied hard both in my schooling and my sparing and well here I am." She blinked and looked up at Aria a crooked smile on her lips "That's why I joined the Army, in hopes that I could get somewhere within the ranks and make my Daddy proud of me. Because he wanted me to be the best."

Aria smiled sympathetically. "I'm sure he's proud of you," she said, "to even apply to be Captain- and to be considered, what's more- is impressive in itself. It takes resolve, and dedication." Gently touching one of the illuminated stones, Aria quietly mused on her own childhood.
"I trained myself in combat too, of course- my job demands it- but I've always been sort of intrigued how I retain two different fighting styles. For example, when I'm in my familiar I attack with as much strength as I am able. When in Human, however, it's far more calculating. I try to use my opponents weakness against them."
She shrugged, swinging her legs so that a there was a small eruption of water around her toes. "Do you have any idea what I mean?"

Ami thought about her answer before speaking it "I think so. You rely more on the instincts and strength of your familiar and in human form you rely on the brain power. I do the same, though a bit more calculating in my familiar form than most might be.Considering my frame is so slight in my Caracal form, I'm a lot faster than most my opponents and rely on their larger form and my quick speed to off balance them." Amizade tried to imagine Aria fighting,by what her mind could come up with, it was a sight to behold "Maybe we can spare some time. Both Human form and familiar? Even though I'm sure we've been on the field together before I'm so tunnel visioned when I'm there that I don't notice anyone else." The Werecat laughed and again looked at the stones around her "What makes them glow so brilliantly?"

Aria nodded. "Sure. I could use some practice, and a formidable opponent."
She turned her attention to the Soul Stones. "I'm not sure. I asked my mother, when I was young, but I don't think she knew either. They're pretty, though, aren't they?" she looked at them happily for a few moments, then slid back into the water. "Well, that's what I wanted to show you. Nothing special- more nostalgic, than anything. We could head back, if you'd like, have our little spar."

She beamed and quickly slid back into the water, already heading out. silently Ami hoped that she was not too far ahead of Aria when she surfaced, the young Werecat quickly scrambled onto the shore of the pool, pulling on her over coat and taking out a katana from it's sheathe. The warrior was in attack mode and she wasn't going to let anything surprise her.

She loved the feeling of being weightless underwater; for a few moments, she simply let herself hover, closing her eyes, before she followed Amizade out.
When she surfaced, she was surprised to find her companion armed, ready for her. Halfway out of the pool, propped up on her arms, Aria paused, laughed.
"That was fast," she chuckled, sliding back into the water. Slowly moving backward, she climbed up on the rocks directly across from the mainland, calmly removed her more bulky bangles and necklace. From a crevice in a rock she pulled her curved blades, which she had stored while she swam; twisting them around her wrists, she focused her attention on her opponent. Less than ten inches long, they curved around her knuckles or, if she flipped them, her wrist, and were extremely swift weaponry. Amizade's katanas, however, had a long reach.
"Human, first, I assume?" she asked, picking her way carefully across the rocks. Five yards from her companion she stepped onto mainland, took a defensive pose, and waited.
