So basically the concept of this is that Ashemir's finally going to grow some balls and talk to Valmar, after the castle is taken over and all that hunky-dory stuff.
-----------
The sound of his boots clacking against the stone floor seemed to reverberate through Ashemir's entire being, like every step was bringing him to a certain doom. He didn't think that was an overly dramatic thought, considering the meatgrinder he had been thrown into ever since he had left Naulus. Valmar's threat still rang as clear as a bell, and he couldn't shake the memory of the general's glare at the tavern. But he had already shrunk away from speaking up once, and he couldn't let this fear force him to abandon his home.
He stopped in front of the guard captain's door, or... Valmar's door, now that the general had claimed the captain's chambers as his own. The blonde stood there for a few moments, just staring at the door. He did have a possible way out; a dagger was hidden in the back of his sash. Other than that, he had nothing but his wits and tricks he had already wasted. If only he had more safety nets, but he feared that if he brought Draven, Valmar would refuse to speak to him at this time, and that he'd just make things worse for Draven. Besides, if he had been too injured to fight in the battle, he would just be a warm up for the general at best.
He raised his hand tentatively, chains clinking as they followed, and knocked on the door with a quick rap. Maybe... Valmar wouldn't be there, and he could just leave, guilt-free.

Valmar examined the small domain of his human rival. He couldn't believe that this was the quarters of the castle's captain. It was a shame that he didn't slay Banez. He would of enjoyed splattering his blood on the city walls. At least he was alive in the dungeons below. Torturing him would give him some joy. Add to the fact that Valmar now owns Banez's room was just icing to the cake.
The general eyed at the literature the former captain had. From what he could pick out, it was mostly religious text. He knew the man was faithful but he was really this pious. It was ridiculious how a man could devote himself to such faith. Their god did nothing while his forces crushed the Captain's army. He figured he would burn these books as firewood. Better yet, he could burn them in front of Banez's face. It would be a big blow to the man's pride.
The Roman's trend of thought distracted him from the thumps of footsteps and clinging of chains. He finally snapped out of it when he heard the knocking on the door. Valmar walked over to the door and opened it. His reaction wasn't overly excited, instead agitated groan as he was face to face with Ashemir. He wasn't too sure why the blonde wanted to speak with him. The general could tell that Ashemir wasn't overly conformable with him, thus Valmar did have the advantage of presense over him.
While the Roman did want to harm the blonde, he knew it wouldn't go well, knowing that Ashemir was clever and he promised Seriah that he wouldn't do harm to his boytoy. "What do you want?" he asked.

Upon hearing Valmar's groan, Ashemir quickly picked up on the general's less than collected state. But even if Valmar wasn't on his game, the blonde wasn't about to test his patience. "I wanted to speak to you. I want to be able to return to the mountain," he said, keeping his expression blank, even though his heart lurched at the mention of his home.

Valmar quirked his eyebrow at Ashemir's request. Was that the only thing the blonde wanted, to return to the mountain? By all means, Ashemir was free to return to his home, so long he wasn't near him. The further away the blonde was, the better it was. "Well, of course you can return home. I believe I stated I never wanted to see you. So as long as I am here, I am perfectly fine with you going back to the mountain." After that reply, the General wanted to close the door on him, but he refrained from shutting him off. Despite not liking the blonde, Valmar wanted to speak to someone. "Though before you leave, do care to stay and chat? And no, I don't plan on harming you. I seriously just want to talk."

"And what if you return to the mountain? What do I do then? Trust me, general, if I could eternally avoid you, I would, but asking me to not be where you happen to appear is not realistic." When the general invited him in, the hairs at the back of Ashemir's neck pricked. He didn't want to, but he still had something to get out of Valmar. "What do you want to talk about?" he asked.

Valmar thought about what Ashemir said. It was possible that he would return to the Mountain. The General dismissed the problem, "Well then, I won't bother to find you."
Valmar noticed that the blonde didn't take his invitation with delight. There wasn't anyway for him to make his guest comfortable. "To be honest, I have no idea. You can come up with the topic. And please, make yourself comfortable. You can sit on the bed...actually, sit on the chair. Don't need to make things awkward."

Ashemir's brow twitched when he was told that Valmar wouldn't come to find him. Well... he might have to take the general's word for it for now. At the suggestion to sit on the bed, the blonde visibly frowned. But maybe... if he made an effort to stay on Valmar's good side, he could turn 'won't bother to find you' to 'leave you alone.' After a few moments, Ashemir slowly nodded and stepped into the room, making his way to the desk chair, which he turned around to face Valmar before he sat down. "So..." What could they talk about? What did they even have in common? Well, they were both vampires. "How were you turned? If you don't mind me asking.."

Valmar eyed Ashemir as he walked into the room. As soon he took his seat at the desk chair, Valmar closed the door, though slightly cracked. When asked about his story of transformation, the general took a seat on the edge of the bed. "Nah, I don't mind if you ask. While it's been a long time, I still remember as if it were yesterday." He paused before continuing.
"I was a human during the dying days of the Roman Empire. The day when I was turned was the same day Rome was sacked. I was responsible for the city's defenses. Despite how hard we tried, the barbarains were able to break through. We fought hard, desperate in stopping the horde, but it was hopeless. In an attempt to allow a family to escape, I fought off several fighters. I was successful but was mortally wounded. Hoping my corpse wouldn't be found, stubbling myself into an abandoned house. Thinking I was alone, I prepared myself for death. However, a figure in a dark cloak appeared in front of me. He told me he thought I was valorious and he would help evade my death and give me great power. I accepted his offer and the man bit into me. I felt powerful, I felt great, I felt invincible. I started my rampage by slaughtering some of those invading mongrols. I drained their blood dry. But even with my great transformation, I forced to retreat myself out of the city, for it was too late for me to do anything. And well..." He tried hold back from saying anymore, "Well, that's my story. So, how did you become a vampire?"

Ashemir watched the door closely when Valmar began to close it, his muscles easing when it was left open a crack. He sat silently as the general told his story, reflecting on the ancient battle and the battle that had occurred a mere while ago. "How noble you used to be," he remarked in a blank tone at the mention of Valmar saving a family. The mysterious man in black had Ashemir's attention. Why had he done that? It didn't sound as though Valmar had thought to ask. But the blonde supposed that the man didn't want his house to fall to pillaging soldiers as much as anyone else in the city, and why not let the general have the blood on his own hands? "I see... A good thing Captain Gladpath was not given the same chance."
Thankfully, after telling the story to Draven and Seriah, Ashemir was able to call forth a simplified version with little struggle. "I was the youngest child in a noble family, and there wasn't much promise in my future. I met a girl named Anna as I sat by the fountain to think during the night, and after some time of knowing her, I learned that she was a vampire. We decided to elope, but my brother had sent a servant to spy on me when we had made our plans. He confronted me and threatened to expose my damned relationship to the my family and to church, so... I took an axe from the wall and killed him when he turned his back, before I packed what I could carry and fled the property." Hah, that sounded familiar. "My eldest brother found the body and chased me, until he struck me down. But then Anna appeared and tore his throat out, while I laid there and tried to cling to life. To save me, she bit me."

Valmar listened to Ashemir's story. Besides wondering what kind of woman would ever court with the blonde, it seemed somewhat similar to the stories he heard from some of his soldiers. They fall in love with a woman, only to really be subdued by a vampire to be food. However, before their blood is completely taken, they were able to escape or kill their huntress. Unfortuately, it's too late for them and they must carryout their undead lives.
Still, it seemed Ashemir's case was actually for true 'love' than suppose a desperate one night stand. Anna must of loved him and actually cared for him, other than his blood or looks. In some way, he is reminded of a time when he was able to fall in love. First when he was a human, and then when he first moved into these lands when he became a vampire. He sighed at the thought then moved along.
Though, he did wonder what happened to his love partner. Guessing from the fact that he doesn't hang around her much, his angish behavior, and knowing how these relationships end, she is no longer walking in this world.
"Even when a human, you seem to get the wrong people mad," the General joked. "But yes, it's a very touchy story. So, I'm assuming you no longer live with Anna."

"If you've noticed, they didn't last for very long," Ashemir retorted. Maybe that wouldn't help his standing with the general, but he was getting so tired of being seen as weak. At Valmar's assumption, the blonde glanced away. "No, I don't. Anna was found and killed in Cados. She didn't even stand a chance against the werewolves." He shook his head, "It's just as well... if she was here, I wouldn't have given a shit about what was happening now."
