--
A brownish blackish wolf ran through the forest, nearing the ancient ruins. She bounded as fast as she could, heart racing, panting. It didn't matter what else was happening right now.
Analisia was home.
The smell of other wolves, whether old smells or brand new, broke to her nose and made her howl with joy. It had been so long since she had last seen this place. She was like a puppy, trying to look everywhere at once. Occasionally the wolf's gaze would snap back to her companion, Travis, whose horse was struggling to keep up with the energetic wolf. Analisia kept running forward, until she stopped just before the grand ruins. The old place. She hadn't set foot here in what seemed like forever. If she took one more step she would truly be home. Analisia was hesitant though, not sure if she was ready to see her pack. She padded forward slowly, forcing herself to face the fears that had held her back since she was first banished. She howled again, calling to any of her brothers and sisters that might be near. Few would recognize her call, fewer still would answer it. But that didn't matter. At last.... She was home.

Travis attempted to keep up with Analisia but his horse couldn't. Zoey was becoming ever more stubborn as she galloped further into the forest. This was due to the animal's instinct to run away from wolves. If only horses had reason to understand that not all furry creatures with claws and teeth were going to kill it. They came closer and closer to the ruins until the horse had enough. It kicked the ranger off it's saddle and ran away out of the forest. Travis laided there on the ground, wondering if Ana is truely feelinf about being back. It seems she was excited, but he could tell that she was also nervous.

The wolf ran back to Travis when she heard the horse run in the opposite direction. She put her muzzle to his head and nudged him slightly, as if trying to persuade him to get up and follow her. Analisia didn't want to be alone while waiting for her kin, her pack. It was scary enough as it was. She nudged Travis again, looking him in the eyes with her own light brown orbs. Then she decided to lick his face, to see if that would hurry him along, not only did she want to continue, she wanted to show him her home.

It took awhile for Travis to get up back up but when Analisia started to lick his face, he had no choice. Wiping the saliva off his face, the ranger stood back. He knew he couldn't let Ana be alone when the rest of her pack showed up. He nodded to the werewolf that he was fine and proceed to walk with her towards the castle ruins.

Analisia walked around Travis, not in front, not beside, but continuously pacing around the human, bursting forward at times, at others whimpering behind him. Analisia had no reason to act so afraid, but she did. She kept brushing against Travis' leg, trying to get some from of comfort from him as they walked to the ruins. When they reached the large, old building Analisia stopped to stare for a moment, letting the memories burst in her mind. Playing here, watching the elders do business, coming here with her family when the alpha called them. She wondered if the same Alpha was in control of the pack or if he had grown old and been replaced. She wondered if any of her childhood friends would remember her face. She didn't realize that she was whimpering softly as she walked beside Travis.

It felt like a terribly long walk back to Naulus. The knot in his stomach refused to untie whether he sprinted in wolf form, or trudged slowly in human. Now in human form, he let the feeling of being back in familiar territory sink in, and ease the tightness in some of his muscles. Kahjit had pointedly avoided going straight home, where he would have had to explain the deaths in Yina, and his failure to recover Yeszlin to the many wolves eagerly waiting, and instead walked to the ruins.
Instead of silence, a howl he couldn't place called for an answer. The young wolf bristled, more out of being startled than anything else. He felt as though he should recognize this call, but for the life of him he couldn't. He ran towards the ruin, stopping a bit short when he saw the wolf that'd called, and the stranger beside her. His eyes couldn't quite make out the details of either, but the smell was unmistakable of both werewolf and human. To cautious to approach closer after Yeszlin's disappearance and the desecration of Yina, his hazy voice called, "Why are you here?"

Travis could tell Analisia was feeling all sorts of emotions. He knew he could comfort her, so he stroke her fur. It's only way he knew to comfort a wolf. Just then he heard the hazy voice. He turned to see who was speaking. He must of been of been one of the werewolves. He was tall, about two inches taller than him. The werewolf seemed tired, must of been running for a long time. "I'm sorry if I was inturding on your lands," he said while bowing his head, "We were afraid that things weren't going well here, which is why we came here."

Analisia turned when she heard the other voice, catching the man's, or werewolf's scent instantly. She didn't quite recognize it, but it pricked her memories. She Changed back to her human form to stand by Travis, looking over at the other man. Her hair messy and tangled from running so long in her wolf form. She walked closer to this man, leaning her neck to the side slightly in the wolf's way of surrendering. Showing skin that was available for the kill. Analisia watched him carefully, looking the male over. "I came to see how the pack was. I have been gone for many years, but I have news that might need to be shared if the pack does not know it already. Do you know where the Alpha is that I may speak to him?"

"They're not." Kahjit answered the man rather dryly. When Ana came closer, carefully showing passivity, he matched her gesture by lowering his head. He straightened, unsure how to respond to this stranger. "Konvar is in Yina." Though he didn't elaborate, the context clearly said the alpha wasn't going to be around for her to talk to any time soon. Strangers showing up just after such tragedy, an unknown werewolf and a man no less, didn't seem to bode well. But there was no reason to chase them out, so Kahjit stepped closer, adding a bit belatedly to his earlier statement, "I'm Captain Kahjit Sekani, tell me, starting with your names."

The ranger quirked his eye at the werewolf's statement. Besides the feeling of emptiness in ruins and the lack of reply from the werewolves to the castle, Travis knew something was up. As soon the male told them that he was the Captain and asked for their names, the ranger replied, "The name is Travis Huntman. I came here because the vampires slaughtered Banez's men and they might overthrow Cados. Though, I'm sure Brenthor told you that already." Where was that fat bastard anyways?

Analisia rolled her eyes at Travis, could the man not keep his mouth shut... She looked at the wolf again, Kahjit... the name was seriously familiar. Then it hit her, he was one of her playmates, just a year younger than herself. "Analisia Moonbright, exiled of the pack." She stated simply, not needing to go into further details than that. Her tone was subdued, here in the pack she was the lowest of the low. A loner, unaccepted by the pack at the moment, she had no right to speak up in anyway other than to answer."As Travis mentioned, we are here to find out why the werewolf pack was not there to help the humans against the vampires. Captain Banez mentioned that an agreement was made, but that no werewolf showed up. I came, along with Travis, to make sure that things were alright." She looked at Kahjit, hoping he might recognize her in someway... But doubting it.

Kahjit stepped back sharply, feeling like the pair had just dropped a ton of bricks on him. The humans had gone to the mountains without them! And the human captain's men had been slaughtered. Swallowing hard, Kahjit shook his head, "If ambassador Brenthor arrived while we were in Feryn, we have not seen him yet." He should have gone straight to the forest, Brenthor might be waiting for them there.
He opened his mouth to say more, but Analisia's name was racketing around his head, with a refusal to dislodge. "Analisia?" He repeated, and the memories of childhood play summoned up a much younger face. "Ah.. I.. um..." In only a few days, that was the fourth time he'd been hit by a tone of bricks. Carefully restricting his tone to neutral, if only because he didn't know what else to do with himself, he answered, "A member of the pack went missing.. and we went to the werecat's to investigate. There was also a tragedy in Yina that the werecats brought to our attention. We've been nearly at each other's throats, and we weren't able to go to the mountains." They'd still planned to meet the humans there. How could they have known Banez would find and engage vampires without their backup?

Kahjit was quite shocked at the news that was dropped on him. The ranger felt sorry for the werewolf who must be stressed out of his mind. Travis also caught note on why the werecreatures never shown. It seems the two species were interlocked with their own issues. As if a war with the vampires were bad enough, it seems the human's allies were about to fight each other. The ranger had many questions: Who was kidnapped? What happened in Yina? He didn't know much about the werecreature's sacred ground, other then it was sort of like the human's Llias. Some sort of tragic event that would happen there must be heartbreaking for the two races.
And they haven't seen Brenthor. Granted, the Captain said he and the leadership was over at Feryn. But the ranger never saw the fat man when entering the forest. In fact, the man had the head start and there was no indication that he was here. Maybe he was intercepted, maybe he turned tailed and ran away, maybe he went to the werecats, but wasn't he heading to the werewolves. If there was no sign of ambassador, then it only proved Travis' suspisions. He wanted to speak, but Ana didn't seem to like it when he spoke. Plus, this was suppose to be her reunion moment.

She heard Kahjit repeat her name and nodded. "Yes Kahjit.. I know my time is not yet up.... Technically I am still in exile, but I had to see what kept my brothers from the human's side. And if things are as bad as you make them sound... Then it is good that I bring this news to you now, we must patch things up with the werecats. They must help us help the humans..."Analisia sighed, what had happened, or what she knew in her heart must have happened at Yina.. and a packmate... It would be difficult to get over for all of the pack. "You know what will happen to the humans without us... If the ambassador is not here, then we shall have to go find him or head straight to the castle.. I am guessing the others are in Yina with the Alpha?" Her voice dropped to a whisper, she had hoped they would be here. That she could see them, her hand moved to touch Travis slightly, without thinking. Her light brown eyes dropped to the floor.

"I don't know about that. We can't know until things at Yina are settled." But Yeszlin hadn't been taken by the werecats, and he already knew the werewolves hadn't destroyed Yina, and killed all those cats. It seemed things were pointing in a rather terrible direction. "Ambasador Brenthor should be with the other wolves. But we can't do anything until Harrier returns, anyway."
After shuffling awkwardly for a moment, Kahjit moved forward, pulling Ana into a rather sudden hug- because well, he's a hugger. "Its good to have one less pack member missing." He mumbled, downright squishing the girl. He didn't know what Harrier would think, but Kahjit felt like their family was just that much more complete. Especially when Yeszlin's absence was killing him so much.
