1. Pretty much closed except for Valmar and I because there's not much place for anyone else. 2. FEAR THE EVIL! Theme song: Star Wars Emperor's Theme www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6W6Agqujpw---- Brenthor was not usually a man who ever hurried to do anything, but this was hardly ordinary circumstances. His whip came down, urging his horse to continue its mad gallop. He knew this route like the back of his hand- he hadn't even bothered to bring an escort with him. After all, they were needed in the castle. He felt his horse slowing under him, and he hissed, hitting it again. However, it just couldn't keep going anymore, nearly collapsing under him. With a scowl he turned it off its original path, heading toward Riyer instead. He would have a new horse brought for him there. It was about time he took a break, he supposed. He made his way through the town, finding himself waiting in the pub with a drink while his new horse was prepared for him.

Valmar led his forces through the unpaved paths of the forest near the outskirts of Riyer. Along the way, they were able to accumulate a few more recruits who have heard rumors of the Roman's army and wish to join the cause. From his force of 500 troops, he now had an army of 600. It wasn't grand in any scale, but their training and natural strength made them an opposing force against the larger human army.
Just then, a spy came running to the general with big news. She spotted one of the nobles from the castle leaving Cado with great haste and tracked him all the way to Riyer. No doubt in Valmar's mind that it must be the ambassador going to warn the werecreatures about his army. Knowing that this couldn't be allowed, the general knew he had to stop him. At first, he thought he should send somebody to deal with him, but after the constant failures of having other people doing his work, he figured he'll do it himself.
He gave Brutus command of the army and proceeded to head to Riyer. The town was deserted like a ghost town. News seemed to have spread quick about the sack of Tiaelda causing many of the citizens, except for a few brave fools, to pack up. As Valmar walked down the street, the few people who took notice of the soldier in the black clad armor immediately took shelter.
Valmar walked into the bar to see it too was nearly abandoned. The general was able to distinguish the noble from the typical drinkers. Valmar walked over to the fat man and coldly said with a smile to him, "Hello there, Mr. Ambassador."

Brenthor was instantly on guard the moment the man used his title. It was quite unusual for someone in Riyer to recognize him for what he was. Slowly, he raised his drink and took a swig. He stared at him with an expressionless mask on. "What is it that you want?" He leaned back in his seat slightly, eyes glinting. "And pray tell me how it is that you know who I am?"

Valmar kepted his dark smile fixed on the Ambassador. "Oh, lets just say you may know who I am." He got closer to the fat man, building up the tense between the two. "And lets just say that I want something from you with great importance." He widen his smile to reveal the fangs in his mouth. "I hear you were going to riding at of the castle with great haste. Possibly, going to tell on the werecreatures about our little uprising. I can't let you do that."

"Well that's funny," Brenthor remarked, not making a move toward him. The smallest of smiles twitched onto his lips. "Because you see, I can't let you stop me." He took a slow, deliberate pull of his drink. "It wouldn't be useful to me, you see. Being stopped." He stared at Valmar coldly. "So... This is what a vampire looks like. Strange, I would have thought that you would look less... Pathetic." He wasn't going to survive this, was he? Well, he certainly wasn't going to show his fear.

Valmar still kept his smile, despite the fat man's attempt to insult him. Clearly, he was in the position of power here. Despite how much the ambassador appeared to be not distrot about the situation, the vampire knew he was afraid. "Well, I'm not sure if you're in the position to mock me, for I've been known to punch through a man's stomach and strangle one of his friends with his own intestines. But that's me when I'm in a good mood." He then took a seat in front of the fat man. "Then again, feel free to grouge yourself in insulting me. I like my victims to give me a good roast before they die." The general then remembered Seriah on how he should spare some of the noble, that he should convert them into vampires. "However, I am glad that we met because I have propostion for you that might benefit us both."

Brenthor had no reaction as the vampire seated himself. "Oh truly? You punch through men's stomachs? Somehow, I think I have little fear of that occurring to me." His chin raised slightly and his voice was dry. "Do not threaten me, vampire. I am not afraid of death." He took in the vampire's words for a moment. "Pray tell me, just how having anything to do with you would help me, hm?"

The general relaxed, eyes still on the Ambassador, "Well, you've already heard of the news about our little uprising and unless something is done about, then you'll soon be out of the job, unless you adapt." Valmar crossed his leg over his thigh and leaned in towards Brenthor. "If you help us in our struggle, we can reward quite greatly. I can tell you don't like being some messenger boy for those furry folk. You desire much more power, and you're not going to gain any of that if you remain the king's royal servent."

"Something?" Brenthor asked, eyebrow raising. "Something like our army crushing your kind?" He smiled grimly. "Don't think you can play me like a fool. If you're so confident that you will come out on top, why come making offers to me, hmm? And as far as I can discern, there's no reason to believe that you would keep your promises. Furthermore, what if you were to lose? Then I would have wasted my energy, and for what? What could I possibly gain from working with you? Playing toady for a vampire instead of a king. I see no difference save the former having a desire to suck my blood."

Valmar chucked at the big man's responce. "Well, if you want me to feast on body, I can. Actually, I could feed you to a squad of my men with just your body. And as soon we dump your corpse in a ditch, we shall reach Cados, sack it, kill your royality, before any reenforcements can come. Though, by the time your army meets mine, we will shall have the number to destory them; that skirmish in Taielda is a perfect example, and that's just a small taste." He took a break before continuing. "But, the only reason why I want to deal with you is because we are so much alike. Sure, you're a human and I'm a vampire, but we have so many common traits. We're both successful men, we're both abitious individuals, we're both great at what we do but looked down by superiors, we both deserve more."

"You underestimate us." Brenthor said with a small shrug. "We are not ill-equipped to last through a siege. That force you met on the mountains was not a fighting force. It was meant to investigate." He stared at Valmar steadily. "Killing me would gain you nothing. With or without me, the wereanimals will hear of the events at Tiaelde and react." He gave pause at the vampire's last statement. So, he was looked down on by his superiors? How interesting. Perhaps he could use that information to his advantage... "Strange that you know so much about me- or perceive to anyway. So you desire more power... Perhaps it is you who should lead the vampires? Is this what you're thinking?" He shifted in his chair. "And you wish for me to help in this goal."

"I knew that when we counted the bodies, but then again, you still haven't seen the full power of my army and to underestimate our capiblity is quite dangerous." Valmar gave Brenthor a stern look. "And of course the werecreatures will eventually find out, but by the time they do, they'll already be emboiled in a civil war. They won't be able to react in time, thus making your trip quite useless. But I don't want to think of you as useless." He then glared a smile, "Yes, I have desire to be the warlord and the eventual ruler of this kingdom, but I do have one problem. I'm not a politican. Yes, I can rule this land, but I have no interest in running a country or dealing with nobles fighting each other or solving the social issues of today. I want to fight, and that's it. You in the other hand, you might make a good warlord; you might make a good ruler: an emperor."

"Oh?" Brenthor's lips lifted slightly in a small grin. "Strange that you would say that. Isn't that what you have going now? You're a fighter, obviously if you lead the attack in Tiaelde. Obviously you must have some sort of warlord then. Not getting along, are you?" He interlaced his fingers, resting his hands atop his stomach. "Well what makes you think you'll get along with me more? How can I know that you wouldn't just try to be rid of me too?"

"Like I said, it's not so much that I desire his position, but I'm afraid of my position," Valmar clearified, "You see, I'm not sure if I can trust my warlord. We do have some of the same goals and he is a brillent leader. However, I'm afraid as soon everything is done that he's going to get rid of me. The people he hangs with, the fact that it seems he thinks I'm a danger to him. Eventually, he's going to have no use for me and throw me under the carriage." The general then leaned back and pointed at the ambassador. "Now you on the other hand, I think we can work together. So long you have me fighting something, I have no problem following your lead. And as soon as we conquer Thrunalhin, I'm sure you would like to rule more."

Brenthor watched Valmar closely as he spoke. So he wanted him because he would be no threat, hm? "How can I be so sure that you can defeat this warlord?" he asked. "Or do you wish me to help you with that as well?" There was no way that he was going to think about betraying his country unless his success was absolutely certain. After all, traitors could never advance politically.
