1. So apparently there's some sort of plot going on here so pming to join, I suppose. 2. I dunno about the title. Don't ask...
----
How many people had he sent to those gallows? Hands clasped behind his back, Tobias Lysand tilted his head up, his gray eyes studying the structures pensively. It had never really bothered him before, orchestrating situations that had gotten people sent here, but suddenly...
Gah. Banez was getting to him. He really shouldn't let that happen.
The advisor glanced around, taking note of the few guards that were mulling around the area. He wasn't inclined to go anywhere where there weren't any, especially when the captain wasn't around. He looked up at the cloudy sky for a moment before letting out a long sigh. He had taken a walk to clear his head, but now it seemed that he was thinking more than ever.

Avi slowly and hesitantly made her way over to the gallows, her long wrapped cotton and silk dress just barely touching the ground. Maybe it was too bright for the occasion... Was it the right choice? How would she get to the daggers tied on her legs when she had to reach under a dress? Maybe she should have thought this out more. It was hard, though. It was very hard to think out a job of this measure! Things like this weren't taken very lightly in Avi's eyes, but if Lysand had really done everything that Brenthor said... It must have been for a good cause. Brenthor would lie, but not about stuff like that. Not to Avi. Hey, he was paying her a pretty nice amount of cash for this, too, so it was all good. Or was it? No, it wasn't.
She'd find a way over those self-made obstacles soon. Hopefully. Why did she do this with every job? Avi ruined the last one for herself, and she was determined not to ruin this one.
Finally, she reached the gallows and spotted him.
Okay, time to start things off. Slow start. Can't make things too obvious.
"Terrible, aren't they?" She looked from the gallows to Lysand.

"Hm?" Lysand was startled, but it didn't show. Nothing ever did, after all. His gaze slowly turned from the gallows to the woman next to them. "I suppose you could say that they are... But they also are necessary, don't you think? After all, criminals deserve death." Or at least, he's always thought so. Who was this woman though? "May I ask you your name, miss?" Probably just some commoner who didn't know who he was.

Avi listened to Lysand's view on the subject and nodded, making her way closer to him.
"Very true. Criminals definitely deserve death. You must know about the criminals that have been executed here, right?" She waited for a moment and then nodded. "What's the worst crime that any criminal who has been hung here committed?"
Wow, more invasive questions. Well, she used Gwen last time... "My name? Oh, my name is Kora, and what is yours?" Of course she already knew his name, but she might as well play dumb to get things going.

Lysand glanced at her as she moved closer. "Yes, of course I do." When she asked what the worst criminals did he took a moment to consider. "Treason. To betray one's country is simply inexcusable." He shook his head slowly.
"My name? Tobias Lysand. Advisor to the king," he added the last part as an afterthought. It wasn't really needed, but he supposed it would be good for her to know of his rank before she got too friendly. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, I'm sure."

She started to become slightly more comfortable once a conversation seemed to start developing, so she proceeded to slowly walk around Lysand, studying him. His answer to her question was interesting, but she believed that there were crimes much worse.
"Really, well although treason is quite a heavy crime, I do believe that there are worse. For instance, lying, maybe." If she really thought that lying was a worse crime than treason, then she must have hated herself, but she was only saying that to try and get Lysand to second guess his choices. Why would he even think of doing such a thing and then pretend like he would never do it? Brenthor was right, this man was not worthy of anything he had.
"Advisor to the King? Well, it is quite a pleasure to make your acquaintance, as well." Advisor to the King. Bah, this man didn't need to be advising anybody. "Do you enjoy your job?" She asked, reaching the other side of him and stopping, turning to face him.

His eyes tracked her as she circled him. Was she anxious or something? She seemed to be walking around an awful lot... "Lying?" Lysand asked, tilting his head to the side. That was a strange answer. "I don't think lying and treason are exactly on the same level." He was a politician. Lying was just what you were supposed to do. You certainly didn't need to be hung over it, right?
He looked at her as she stopped. "Yes," he replied with a small shrug. "I suppose you could say that I do." It's not like he spent ten years of his life working to get to his position or anything... "What about you? What do you do?"

She looked him up and down for a moment. Every reply was just making her dislike him more and more. Maybe this job wouldn't be so hard after all. Speaking of job, she was starting to get anxious. Patience was necessary, but she needed to get this thing on the road.
"Well, I suppose little white lies aren't as bad as treason, but I mean lies. Not small lies, but lies that affect a large group of people. A very large group of people. Usually they might involve one specific target..."
Careful, don't give too much away. He might catch on.
"Anyways. I guess it's a good thing that you enjoy your job. Best to enjoy it for a shot while than hate it for too long." She looked down and then nodded towards Lysand. "Walk with me?"

"Well I suppose you have a point," Lysand conceded with a nod. This woman was rather strange... He was getting strange vibes from her, and was feeling a tinge of anxiety. Love it for a short while? That was a strange word choice... Why would it be for a short while opposed to a long while just because he lived it.
"I... I suppose," he said, beginning to walk. He made up his mind that he was going to break off from her the moment they came from an intersection, with some sort of excuse.

She smiled and continued walking, feeling for her daggers strapped around her legs. The man didn't seem to be wearing any kind of protective armor, so that was always a plus. Unfortunately, her 'armor' seemed to be constricting her reach for her daggers on her legs. Maybe she could just rip the bottom of her dress... After all, she was wearing leather pants under this. Yeah, she needed to look harmless, but she wasn't about to go out with any kind of protection on.
Good idea, I'll just rip the bottom of this dress and I can get my daggers from my pants.
"Great. Don't worry, we can just make it a short little break type walk, nothing too big." She continued walking with Lysand quietly until they got to a rather empty street. This side of town wasn't too busy, during day or night. Really, it was only busy during executions, and even those were starting to get old in the community.
So how am I going to do this? Should seduction be involved or should I just go for it? No seduction. He seems pretty intent on staying out of things with random people. He probably wouldn't want to risk foiling his plan, anyways. Let's just get right into it, I guess.
"So, how do you feel about the Prince?" Avi gripped her dress, tugging at it to see how in tact it was. If it wouldn't rip, then she could just loosen it and try to slip it off. It might take a while longer, but at least it would allow her to move easier.

"The prince?" Lysand backed up half a step. What did she think he was going to say? His thoughts of the prince were something he'd never just tell a member of the general public! "He's a fine man," he replied. "I believe that he will fill his father's shoes nicely." Especially when he would be the one making sure that happened. He backed up another half a step as she tugged at her dress. Um.
"Listen, I should probably be getting back to the castle. I mean, I have an important duty, and I shouldn't be gone for long." His eyes scanned the immediate area for a moment. No guards... Damn it!

Avi listened to his reply and let out a small laugh. A fine man, hah. She didn't really know the Prince all that well, but this guy was real good. He was really good. Even Brenthor would hold himself a little more respectably. Oh well, all the more reason to successfully complete this job.
"Oh I'm sure he will," she said, slipping the silk off of her head. "I'll make sure of it."
When he mentioned leaving, she realized that this job could not end unsuccessfully or the kingdom of Cados might be in danger. She sucked in her her stomach and let the rest of her dress fall off of her as she stepped out, grabbing one of her daggers.
"Oh no, you aren't getting away from me now. I'm not about to let you ruin this kingdom!" She quickly threw the small dagger at his leg, cutting his thigh. Maybe that would slow him down a bit.

((I just can't wait for you to get home to make this reply. x3 I know what character you are, so we can just deal~))
"You'll make sure that he will?" A hint of confusion passed through his gaze, but other than that, it didn't show. What was she talking about? His eyes snapped to hers as she spoke again. This time without a dress. ... What? "Ruin the kingdom?" However, he was suddenly struck with a dagger in his thigh, a scream escaping his throat. He moved to try to get away, his leg dragging just slightly. It was a small dagger, and hadn't caused much damage, luckily. No... That was no good. He couldn't show his back to her she could throw a dagger into it. He shakily drew his rapier, his face going blank, but his eyes just barely reflecting the fear that he felt.

(Whoop! Finally some action for Avi lol > ) Avi suddenly felt a rush of adrenaline in her arms, eventually spreading to her chest and out to the rest of her body. Now she was really itching for a fight. Coming up to the gallows, she had been so hesitant; frightened, almost. Now, she was assured that she was doing the right thing, and she was ready to finish it.
"Yes, ruin the kingdom. You and your little plans for the Prince," she said as she slipped two more of her smaller daggers from her legs into her fingers. "Don't even play dumb with me anymore. It's expected at first, but when you just keep going on and on! Shut up!"
She blindly threw the two daggers in his direction as he drew a rapier. A smirk slowly appeared on her face as she put her hand on her larger, more ornate and jagged dagger.
"So, it's a fight you want? Well then it's a fight you'll get. I'm tired of people like you, abusing your positions for your own selfish ambitions! You don't even know how many people's lives you'll be affecting! I'm not about to just stand around and let you do this, either."
