Legend claims that Werewolves evolved from the Anubis-worshiping Egyptian priests of old, who, facing their people's slaughter at the hands of Vampires, prayed to their deity for protection. In answer, jackal-headed Anubis granted these priests the power to shift into a canine form at will, and to hunt the undead.
Werewolves are social creatures; their pack is joined by a strong mental bond. When in canine form, Werewolves can feel the consciousness of their kindred so intimately that their own thoughts seem no different, so that, when hunting, every move is carried out swiftly, without hesitation or misunderstanding. Even when in Human form, Werewolves often like to travel together.
Werewolves have an acute sense of smell and sight, and are capable of seeing at night. To them, Vampires smell acidicly, sickingly sweet, and are easily tracked by their odor. Werecats smell like softer, but still sweet, odors, like lavender, but while they can pick up easily on the difference between a Human or a Werecat, a Werecat's odor is so faint that it makes them exceedingly difficult to track. However, even though Werecat scents are extremely faint, once a Werecat's scent is well known by a Werewolf Vampire, or other Werecat, it becomes as easy to track them as if they were a Human. Humans smell to them how Humans smell to each other, but to a heightened degree; they are, as well, very easily tracked.
Silver is known to be a powerful magical retardant, its potency measured in how pure the metal is. Many superstitious humans wear cheap silver chains or charms in attempts to ward off black magic; to Werewolves, however, silver hinders their ability to shift. Pure silver will not only stop a Werewolf into shifting into his or her canine form, but will return Werewolves to their human state.
Werewolves dress like other Humans do when in their cities, but when in Naulas, they dress in tribal clothing that Humans would certainly find indecent, meant to show off the natural beauty of the human form. Often they wear tribal beads or carved pendants as jewelry.
When a Werewolf changes, anything that has not been touched with his or her blood will not shift with them. Because of this, it has become practice for Werewolves to rub a small, unnoticeable amount of their own blood onto whatever they intend to wear. This practice does not need to be repeated on garments that have been previously worn, even if they have been washed.
