Setting: After the second battlefield, between Tiaelde and Cados. (We need a board for spaces outside of cities. x3)
Following the vampires' trail wasn't that difficult, but damn, he just wished that he didn't stop leaving one faction only for new news to hit him in the face later. The ground beneath the mountain was still stained with blood by the time Vieko had gotten there, and the air in Tiaelde was even more unnerving than usual. Under the guise of a vampire, he was able to coax out how he could meet with the general from one of the black-clad soldiers securing the area.
He wasn't quite sure how the vampires organized themselves, but the general seemed like a good place to start. He was the loudest, at any rate.
Vieko felt tired to his bones after hurrying to make up for lost time, running on little sleep and only small breaks for food. At one point he thought he had gotten completely lost in the forest, too, and he was about to call it quits before he started thinking on his goal, which gave him the second wind to continue his mad search. At last, he thought he heard marching. Vieko held back for a long while, activating one of the blood necklaces while they were out of eyesight and range of smell. There, all vampirized. Or... whatever that verb may be.
He started hurrying forward again to meet with the vampires at the back of the line. Hopefully they'd send him up to talk to the general directly....

Too many interruptions, that was up in the general's mind. Even though his forces were making good time, Valmar was getting tired of this small meetings. First was the human ambassador, then that small raid, then that mage, that forest fire...while the outcome of these meet ups benefited the Roman, it was still annoying to feel like some force was trying to delay his arrival.

(Maybe if Valmar didn't like interruptions so much, he wouldn't have revealed his army. x3 )
"Hey!" Vieko waved to one of the soldiers on the outside of the march, the other hand holding the strap of his pack. "Who can I talk to about joining?"
(Sorry, short.)

(Valmar: .... I shall destory you! -shakes fist in the air-)
A soldier heard the loner speak to him. He turned around to see who he was. The soldier smelt the individual and he didn't smell like a human or a furball. He must of been one of the several vampires who have heard Valmar's success and have decided to join his army. "Ah, so you wish to join Valmar's army? You may want to speak with the general himself. He'll be the tall man in a more decorative armor, more in the center of the formation."

"Yeah!" Vieko smiled when the soldier sensed his intention. When he got Valmar's description, he nodded and started to quickly slink his way through the formation, which took a bit of maneuvering. He knew that vampires were supposed to be fast, but damn, they were fast! Eventually, he came across the towering figure in black armor and held back the urge to whistle in an impressed fashion. Vieko slipped beside the general, looking up at him, "So, I was told to talk to you about joining this organization."

Valmar was walking along with the formation. While marching, he was discussing about tactics with Brutus, as well as resharing the events that happened the night prior. It was deep in this discussion, that they didn't realize the person that was coming up behind them. When he realized that a new recruit wished to speak with him, the general paused his talk with the colonel and looked down at the new long haired ally. "Oh pardon me, I'm sorry I didn't see you there. We were discussing about...plans." He nodded to his second in command, which directed Brutus to go away. "So, you wish to join my army. Well, we do need the numbers in this struggle of ours..."

Well, Vieko would hope they were talking about... plans. Too bad he had announced his presence so soon, because he would have liked to listen in. "I figured you would! I checked the field under the mountain, and I could just tell from what was left behind that you have an army of badasses. I'm Raphael Halvari." If the general cared about names, anyway...

"Ah, pleasent to meet you Raphael," smiled the General, "Well, you seem like the energentic type. Tell me, what do you have to offer in this prime army of mine."

"Well! That's the interesting thing!" He reached into one of the pouches at his belt, "I had gone to feed around Naulus, and I caught some sorry guy off the road. I searched his body afterward, because I don't want to be wasteful, ya'know, and I found these." He produced three blood necklaces, the human set. "Lucky day, huh? So I thought, 'hey, I could probably get paid for having something like this!' So here I am! Think you need any extra infiltrators that have a good way of 'blending in'?"

Lucky day indeed. Weren't these necklaces quite rare? And why was he hanging around Naulus. How was he sure that this fellow wasn't using one right now just to blend? Spies were useful, but the general was already pushing his trust limit. "I guess we could use a spy to our advantage. Tell me, why were you wandering the werewolves' land."

"I heard there was something valuable stuffed somewhere under one of the human fortresses around there. But then I figured it's worth less than what you could pay me consistency, yeah?" He pocketed the necklaces, and then wrinkled his nose slightly. "'You guess'? I could look after something too, if you needed me too. You could think of me like.. an errand boy for the tedious tasks you don't want to do. You know, as long as you don't abuse it," he smiled slyly.

"I see," stated Valmar placing his hand over his chin. He wasn't so sure if the man's story held water, but he was so eager to help out. "Well, I'm not sure what errands I can give you. Though, my men could take some pressure off their work. Tell me, what kind of work do you usually do?"

Vieko wasn't sure why the story wouldn't hold water. There was nothing to disprove it. And people always did hide things in obscure places. After all, who knew what the catacombs in Cados or Llias held, not to mention the mountain. And the rumor mill was always churning, churning, churning....
"Well, sir... I'm a thief. But I could watch things, keep a schedule, and I'm pretty good with my hands. I could assemble some things if I was shown a couple of times," Raphael answered.

"So, you're thief. I'm not so sure if I can trust you with anything valuable." He gave a sly chuckle before going on. "However, I am quite interested in a person who can gather precious intelligence and items." He pondered what he could use the man for that would benefit him and would ensure that this thief was trustworthy. "I want you to head over to Cados and give me a report on the guard movements. If you can steal any important documents, that would be fine. Then, head over to the Dragon's Keep and tell the bartender to setup 20 kegs of beer."

His eyes brightened, and he leaned in a bit closer when Valmar gave him his first mission. "Twenty kegs?? Okay..." The general wasn't going to stuff the whole army in the tavern, was he?? "Consider it done. Anything in particular I should be looking out for in terms of documents and where the patrols are...?" He would look, certainly, but would he share? That was another question. But the general seemed to be a reasonable man so far, so...
