Today was the day. The day the new soldiers came in. Amizade sighed, it was going to be a long day, a long day but a good one. The Newest Werecat captain had been on patrol all night, an old habit of hers, and hadn't a chance to even stop walking since the messenger was sent to her tent telling her about the soldiers. This group was going to be hers. She was going to train them, she was going to lead them, and they were going to be the best. The young warrior was excited about starting their training , she liked how when the newbies came in that they were usually scrawny with a little bit of skill, occasionally a timid solider would come in, then they left well toned individuals with masses of skill.
Amizade hadn't notice that she was on the training field long before she had stopped her thoughts. There was about 16 individuals in the group, a good number for a group. The Captain scanned the group, making note of the three woman that were among the other thirteen men, this pleased her to no end.
Amizade walked a little more forward. Her form quiet impressive in the early morning fog with her overcoat flowing behind her slightly as a light breeze and her two katanas, one on her right hip the other on her back, glinting in the pale sunlight"Now, I'm sure you all know why you are here." Amizade paused "All of you will go into the guard and some of you, the best of you will eventually see war." The group shifted excitedly "I am Amizade Hasina. Captain Hasina to all of you." She smirked "At least until you earn it." Again they shifted excitedly, anticipating the day that they would be able to call their Captain by her first name. Amizade assumed that day would never come, but you never know. "You're training will take about a year to finish and your training." Amizade paced among the recruits, their eyes constantly following her "There are wooden swords over there." Ami gestured to a pile of wooden swords "You will also notice there is no protection for you." The warrior smirked as the group murmured nervously "This is because I am determined to make you all the best" She stopped in front of the group again, her jade eyes shinning with the thought of the future "And the best does not fear pain!" These were the words her father stressed upon her and these are the words that she would stress among the people under her command "Once you've gotten your swords I want you to divide into half, one half on the other side of the filed and the other half on the opposite side. Then I want you to fight as though you were on a battle field." She paused to let them understand what she was saying "This is simple sparring rules. Any body part that is hit you can no longer use. Any hit to your stomach throat or heart is a death. This exercise is meant to show you the ruthlessness of combat and also teach you how to work as a team.GO NOW!" The soldiers scrambled to split up and get their swords, the girls were all on one side. Amizade would try to keep those tree together as best she could.
The Training had taken about 9 hours and it was sun was high in the sky before Amizade let the soldiers resign to their tents for the rest of the afternoon.
Just as the Captain was walking off the field, a tavern in mind, two of the new soldiers ran up to her. It was two guys, one looked like he had the potential to be a beast of a man and had piercing golden eyes. The other was very lithe with long arms and almost Caribbean blue eyes "Captain Hasina, might we have a word with you?" It was the Lithe on that spoke. "Yes?" Ami hadn't gotten the chance to learn everyone's names, probably for the best. the man gave a bow and a small smile "My name is Anhur Ma'am and this is Chisisi." He gestured to his big friend before speaking "We were wondering if we could stay together? I mean that we both become guards or both of us become real soldiers?" Amizade smiled sadly "I can put you both on the guard but I can't but you both on the field if you one of you or both of you don't prove you have earned it." Anhur nodded solemnly. Chisisi found this his chance to speak "We will prove it Cap'in." He stance suggested that he was confident in his words, Amizade admired this and allowed him to speak "I know that we are the best." Chisisi gestured around the field at the straggling soldiers "Anhur and I've trained with each other since we were little kids. No formal trainin' or nothing. I mean we had a good chance for an education too but we wanted to be in the army and be good at it too. So we are not very bright but we can fight." Amizade smiled, a genuine smile was rare for her, and nodded "Well, you boys prove to me that you guys deserve to stick together, that you can keep each others back. This includes being honest men, staying out of trouble as much as you can and when you do get into trouble, at least with me, I want to see some true friendship. No lying and taking the blame for the others actions but definitely sticking up for one another be it to me or anyone else." The two guys looked at each other excitedly and both bowed, saying thank you almost to the point of incoherency. Amizade continued to smile "Go on now. Go get some rest and something to eat, training will be longer and harder tomorrow." Anhur and Chisisi ran off towards the tents.
The Captain sighed and headed towards the stables to get her horse and to ride into town for a good drink.
It was another hours ride to town and by the time Amizade got there she was definitely ready for that drink.
Amongst the noise of the tavern it was hard to hear the creaking of the heavy wooden door. Several heads turned in Amizade's direction, she definitely looked like a woman of power. The warrior payed them no attention and merely walked over to the bar and sat down, allowing all of the stress of the day to melt away. The Bartender walked over and asked if she wanted anything, Amizade waved him off and he continued to clean glasses with a more than likely dirty rag.
Ami turned around in her seat and scanned the room, smelling more than looking, seeing if there was any Werewolves or Vampires in the room. Immediately the sickeningly sweet smell of vampires collided with the smell of camp fires, she quickly turned around, the smell overwhelming her unprepared senses. Amizade now wished she had bought a drink if only to keep the smells out of her nose. She looked up at the bartender and he toddled over again asking what she wanted "One Ale please."
