After he picked up his other knife to get the blonde one, Leon felt himself get knocked over by the soldier he had been previously trying to charcoal. 'Persistent bastard!' It was funny in it's own right as the futility of the mans effort were astounding. Even if he did manage to take down Leon, the man still failed his mission anyway and had single handedly managed to kill no vampires. Either way he had to get the burning idiot off of him before he lite fire himself. He took the knife, slit the soldier's throat and pushed the soldier off of him.
It was to late though him robe had started to catch fire. As fast as he could he took the robe off and threw it on the ground, good thing he wore clothes on underneath, but he liked that robe. He looked back at the soldier, took some of the fire from his robe and began to stream fire at him again. "I'm going to burn you till not even bones are left!"
Once he had felt satisfied with the remains of the man he turned to Cruz, "Pathetic man, I think life is a worse punishment for you. But first..." He walked up to Cruz and pulled out his knife, "I want this back."

"Hold it right there!" shouted Valmar as he attempted to interrupt the chaos. One of his men grabbed Cruz and pulled him away from the mage. While the general wasn't a fan of giving quarter, the blonde commander could provide some useful intel for the battle ahead. He had his soldiers surround the mage. "That was an impressive fire show," stated Valmar, "Tell me, why did you turn on your men like that?"

Needless to say, the other soldiers put up their best fight, but it wasn't long until they were slaughtered.
The bright-eyed soldier was thrown off onto the ground, and this time he let out a soul-wrenching scream as his entire body burned. This was not a glorious way to die....
Cruz stared with wide, horrified eyes as he watched his comrade die writhing and screaming by Leon's flame. It felt like his mind intermittently shut down, in an attempt to protect him from the hellish sight. He put up no resistance, eyes still trained on his friend, as a vampire soldier pulled him away. Cruz' legs wobbled. If the vampire didn't support him, he'd fall to his knees again.

Leon looked at the man who asked him the question, he was ornately armored and seemed to be the one in charge. He would have smiled if it weren't time for business now. "Thank you, but I must say you have me mistaken sir. I never had the intention of helping them at all, rather quite the opposite as you have seen. My true intention is in this very moment, I have a proposition for you."

The general quirked his brow up. So, the human was helping him all along, but why? Didn't he realize that he was most likely going to food or a servent or a vampire if they succeed. Valmar figured the mage might of realized that the humans were doomed and decided to join his side in hopes of gaining something. Or, maybe the mage had his own agenda. Either way, a person with magical talents would be quite useful for their plans of conquest. The general made his men lower their arms. "What is your proposition, fair sir?"

Cruz fell to his knees, staring distantly at the exchange going on. How could he be so stupid? But how could he have known? His gaze dropped to the ground. He was such a failure....

Leon felt slightly more comfortable at the lowering of arms, but the arrow in his arm was getting to be a painful. 'Well I'll have to take care of that afterward and deal with it for now' "Well as I'm sure you have guessed these soldier were here to burn down and destroy your siege weapons, but they have basically failed. However nobody back at the castle is aware of this. If no word comes I from any of the soldiers they will be forced to assume the attack was a failure and prepare for your weapons, but this doesn't have to be the case. I can go back to the castle and give them a false report of the attack, so they aren't prepared for your weapons and while I am there I can do anything you would need done inside the city."

Valmar took a thought on the plan. The mage was right; if the force didn't return back and give a positive report, the castle will assume the squad failed, thus prompting them in enforcing their defences. However, how was he sure that the mage wasn't going to tell the castle of their position? It seemed he wanted to help his cause and proved it by burning his own kind. But he could just be one of those people who hated both sides. "Your plan sounds interesting. But how are you sure that they'll take your word? They send out ten men that they know into the wild, only to have a lone mage that they never met before return. I'm quite sure they'll get suspicious."

Leon looked over at Cruz, poor man looked like hell, it seemed like living was the right choice for him after all. "I have thought about this and there is no way to make them 100% sure, but there is ways to make it more believable. First, if I return actually looking like I went threw a battle rather than just having an arrow wound, they are more likely to believe that everybody else died. Second, if I return with a piece of their equipment, I can prove I was actually with them. Third, a piece of the jar that exploded, can prove some of the weapons were actually destroyed. And of course last, I'm going to need a believable story on how I escaped." All of this seemed almost to cautious, but it could go either way in the castle.

The mage has really thought this through. Maybe his plan can work out for the better. "Alright, sounds like a plan," Valmar replied, "So, we rough you up, give you a piece of the enemy's equipment, the exploded jar, and come up with a conviencing story. Sounds easy."

The plan did seem simple enough to Leon and he knew how extremely powerful it could be upon completion. The leader had seemed to take a liking to his plan as well, with logical uncertainty, but he had the intention of fully carrying this out. "Yes it isn't to difficult and you already have a forest fire on your hands, so I can use that." He motioned to the tree he had previously lite fire to burn the soldier. "However before we begin I would like to do one thing." The arrow wound was beginning to be a real pain and he had to take care of it. It had gone all the way through his arm which would make it easier to take care of. He cut the shaft of the arrow at the arrowhead end and once the arrowhead was gone he pulled the arrow out and stabbed the wound with his knife. Immediately he took it out and burned the wound. "It would be a little suspicious if I returned with an arrow wound and all of their men had bows."

"True, they could trace that arrow as their's," replied Valmar. He did have a few archers (what army doesn't) but they weren't the bulk of his force nor did his archers' engage with those particular arrows. Walburg came to his general with a ripped piece of cloth with had the crest of the Royal Guard. Valmar handed the fabric to the mage, "You could use this, say this was all you could find from the team. If you must, we could give you a few good cuts and bruces as well." He should also get rid of the forest fire once they were done.

Leon looked at the garment, that would most likely suffice for the remains of the men, perfect symbol of the men he was working with. He looked over at Cruz again, the soldier looked pretty pathetic just sitting there and Leon liked the man's bow. "If you don't mind I would also like to take his bow, he probably won't be needing it anyway. Though if you'd rather keep it that is fine, this crest should be good, but a few more injuries could help." A few more injuries, he didn't really like the sound of the idea, but it was better to be safe than sorry, in an ironic twist.

(One weasel post! Don't worry, it's pretty ignorable.)
Cruz glanced up finally, the look in his eyes defensive. No! His sister had given him this bow! No way that maniac was going to have it; he'd burn it! He looked at the vampires as his hands balled into fists. God only knew what else these monsters would take from him.
