Despite being knocked off his feet, Brutus had the dagger in his hand. The Colonel saw the human trying to grab his pole-axe again. The vampire made his move and grabbed Simon's leg. Then taking the dagger, he stabbed his left calf. He dragged the human closer and closer to him until he was on his entire body. "Maybe I could use you as a good snack," he snared as he moved his fangs closer to the soldier's neck.
Valmar anticipated Banez's block and got his sword back in the ready. However, the Captain's attempt to shield slam him forced the General to spin right, forcing Banez to miss his target and allowing Valmar to slice his opponent at the lower back. "Bah, fat chance, the kingdom you know is done for. Corruption has weakened it to the point where it can't even save its self, and you know it." This time, the Roman attempted to take a slice at the Captain's leg.

She heard the sound with only enough time to step to the side and start to turn. The blade slammed into her hard leather armor, which slowed the momentum, but sliced into it and hit her shoulder. With a screech of pain, Zephyr swung her broadsword from the ground and up, knocking the sword from her shoulder. Then she swung back to try and slice the man who had hit her in half. Behind her, she listened to what was going on with Banez and Valmar, but her newfound fury was focused on the human that had struck through her armor. That was twice she'd gotten hit and she was pissed. Frustration gleamed in her eyes and she lifted her other hand and grasped the hilt of her broadsword, crying out in a mix of a war cry and the effort it was taking her to heft her weapon in her weakened state.

Simon yelled out in pain when the dagger sliced into his calf. He reached for his poleaxe, which suddenly fell out of reach when he was pulled by the leg. He dug his gauntleted fingers into the earth, dragging them through it as the vampire pulled him closer, eyes wide as he watched the distance between him and his weapon increase. When he felt Brutus climbing onto him, he twisted around and tried to elbow the vampire up in the jaw. "Get off of me!" he yelled, still sounding assertive despite his position.
Banez recovered when his shield sailed through the air, but he fell forward onto a knee when Valmar's sword struck deep into his armor. As much as the dented armor was scraping his split flesh now, he held back a cry. When the general attempted to strike his leg, he spun around, holding up his shield to take the force of Valmar's sword. His shield arm immediately dropped, but the captain picked himself up and put some space between him and the vampire, arming sword at the ready. "My kingdom I swore to serve until death. And if that's what your intelligence has gathered, then you're horribly mistaken."
Trevor leapt back immediately when his strike hit her shoulder and the first pass of her sword nicely and speedily knocked the longsword out. Not his preferred target, but he smiled to think that he damaged the muscles necessarily to swung that stupidly huge thing around. He watched the broadsword carefully. No doubt one hit with that thing would painfully sink into his lighter plate armor.

The human was a squirming one indeed. He even tryed to elbow him in the face. But, resistance was futile against the Colonel. "I will get off of you, as soon as I drink your blood." He moved his fangs closer and closer to his neck. He was mere inches from his meal.
Suddenly, pain shot up in Brutus's shoulder, as an arrow traveled through the crack of his shoulder plate, and punctured his flesh. He tilted off his victim and a scuffy man in woodland clothes running with bow in his left hand and his fist balled up in the other. Unable to react, the ranger punched the Colonel hard in the face, knocking him out. The punch hurt the man's hand, but it's job. The ranger then bent over to help the soldier up. After getting him up, he demanded one thing, "Where is Captain Banez?"
"Really?" Valmar scoffed in disbelief, "They send you down here with the improper number of forces, lack of intelligence on your enemy, and placed you in the worst terrian as possible. Poor planning or your king purposely sent you to your death, either way, your kingdom has failed you and you shall fail it." He swinged his sword again, this time at the Captain's sword arm.

Zephyr shot a glance back over her shoulder at Valmar and Banez, just to ensure the general was holding himself well. No interuptions seen, she returned her yellow gaze to Trevor. "You aren't very nice, sneaking up on someone like a coward," she said, her voice tinged with pain. "I'll have to make a note to get better armor when it comes to you damn humans. You don't play fair." At this, she lifted her broadsword as best she could and, with a slight wince, started forward. Now she could defend at a slow speed like this. Walking would make it easier for her to swing her sword even with an injured shoulder, though it was going to be very weak if she managed to hit. She halted, as if beckoning the human closer.

Simon shut his eyes, bracing himself for the bite. But it didn't come, and he heard a crack just above him. He opened his eyes, only to be pulled to his feet by an unknown agent. Augh, his leg was killing him.... He looked at the man first in bewilderment. "He's..." Simon tried to look over the remaining fighting soldiers for Banez' palomino, but he couldn't see it. "I don't know. Aghh..." he reached down and yanked the dagger from his calf, falling onto one knee. "Probably escaped..."
Banez slipped to Valmar's side to avoid the general's strike. Staying low, as much as his back hated him for it, he swung his sword to jam the blade into the back of Valmar's knee. "Just because we were wrong doesn't mean you're right. Are you forgetting how sturdy humans have stood even in the face of vampire attacks throughout the centuries?"
"Heh... still got you good, bitch," Trevor smiled slyly when Zephyr called him a coward. And there she stood, poised to attack, and Trevor furrowed his brows. Every so often he made a move to dart forward, and then retreated back just as quickly, coaxing her in hopes to have her make her strike in uncertainty.

Travis didn't felt secured with the soldier's answer. Clearly, among the people fighting, Banez was one of them. Why he went forward with this attack was beyond him, but the ranger needed to get him out of here if he was going to fight again. "I suggest you do same before you come lunch." With that, the woodsman went deep into the action, hoping to God that he wasn't too late.
Valmar kneeled as he took the strike at the back leg. In return, the general striked at the Captain's shoulder. "I can see," smirked the General, "I have to admit, for a human, you are a worthy opponent. However, the age of man shall soon fall and you'll fall beside it." This time, the vampire rushed Banez with his shield and flipped him up into the air before smacking him down with the flat-edge of his sword.

Zephyr didn't attack. She knew better than to attack. Attack was a stupid idea in this situation. Injured and definitely weaker than her normal self, she wasn't about to be lunging at Trevor and his feints. She watched him, carefully, sword at the ready, following his every movement and ensuring he didn't get behind her. "You only got me because humans are weak and pitiful," she hissed at him, narrowing her yellow eyes. "Either you gang up to get an advantage or you sneak around like dirty little rats and cheat." She didn't dark glance toward Valmar in this moment. Removing her eyes from the human was dangerous at this point. Especially now that she'd have trouble blocking attacks from him. At the moment, she wished she had a little back up. Though, she would never admit that to anyone.

"Thank you," Simon said to the mysterious ranger. Another human soldier with a silver beard came and brought an arm around Simon, helping the second-in-command out of the battlefield.
Banez raised his shield again, although his arm bonked into his head when Valmar's sword struck the protective metal. He stood up again into his fighting stance, but Valmar's shield knocked into his. Although he tried to match the vampire's force, the captain slid back from Valmar's charge. He wasn't launched in the air, but Valmar's next sword strike against his shield left his shield arm reeling from the impact. Banez was forced to drop his shield arm limply, and he charged in uncomfortably close to strike this time at the inside of Valmar's elbow. His back felt incredibly torn up now, but still the captain pushed through the pain.
"Oh, you're one to talk about dirty tactics in this situation," Trevor said to Zephyr, stopping in his attempts to psyche the vampiress out. She wasn't taking the bait, and he was just going to waste his energy. He supposed the only thing to do was stay alert at the standstill, and make sure Captain Gladpath didn't have another potential body to deal with.

Valmar turned to face Banez. Despite his punishment on this human, he still wanted to fight. "Ah, if only if you were a vampire, you would make a powerful ally. But, it's a shame somethings don't work out." The Roman then went for another hard strike for his head.
Tartus left his position as soon as he heard the sound to charge. Alright, he had viciously killed 13 soldiers in the course of the battle. It came to his surprise to see Zeph was in trouble. She was wounded and tried. He never understood why a girl of that size would carry a sword of that size, but it was useless if you were too weak to use it. Using the element of surprise, he was able to jump on the back of her cocky opponent and jamming his sword blade down his throat, hoping that would silence him for good.

Wonderful! Her silent wish went heard after all. Smiling, Zephyr watched, finally relaxing enough to lean on her sword again, holding a hand to her side. At least some form of backup had come; she didn't think it would be good if another human soldier had come across her face off with Trevor. Finally, she chanced a look at Valmar, bright eyes glinting at his fight. How amusing; the human was much stronger than he had appeared at first. Well, at least Valmar was enjoying his little fight. The game would end soon, though. She knew it would.

Banez quickly stepped away when he came out of striking Valmar's arm. If he was a vampire...? Banez' expression blanked briefly before he narrowed his eyes. "You'll never have me, vampire!" he shouted, swinging his sword again in a second wind to knock Valmar's away to the inside. The captain slipped past Valmar's side, raising his leg to drive his foot forcefully into the back of the vampire's knee.
Trevor's eyes widened when suddenly a vampire was at his back. Raising his longsword, he was barely able to block Tartus' sword with the flat side of his own, narrowly protecting his throat. To get the vampire off his back, he jammed his elbow behind him to catch the shorter vampire in the throat.

Valmar quickly moved his leg away and taking advantage of Banez's unguarded back, striking his sword were he previously made the dent. This time, the general was able to dig deeper into the armor. As he pulled out his sword, it was dripping with blood. Then using his shield, he slammed the Captain into the face, hoping to knock him onto the ground.
Tartus was quite surprised at the human's reflex. Despite getting elbowed in the throat, he wrapped his arm around Trevor's throat, wrapped his legs around his waist, and using his wieght, brought the human to the ground. There on the ground, he strangled the cocky bastard, hoping to squeeze any remaining air in his body.

Zephyr eyed Valmar for a moment, then turned toward the sound of struggling in the direction of Tartus and Trevor. Now would have been the perfect time for her to slit the bastard's throat, if she'd brought a dagger with her. Of course, she hadn't expected on such close combat (seriously, being stabbed in the side had thrown her off completely) and so she hadn't brought any of her smaller weapons with her. Not even the barbed whip she enjoyed using at times. Blinking her bright eyes, she tried to catch Tartus's attention by moving into his view and looking between his eyes and the human, hinting that she could help in dispatching him.

Valmar didn't even have to use his shield to ground the captain. Banez was unable to hold back a cry this time when the vampire struck his back a second time. He was afraid for a moment that the vampire had sunk the blade into his spine as he fell forward, but upon rolling belly-up, he found that his vital nerves were intact. He attempted to sit up, only for the dented armor to tear more into his back. Swallowing another pained sound, he just propped himself up with his shield arm, glancing away briefly to see Trevor struggling against another vampire before he looked back at Valmar, raising his arming sword in a defensive position from where he laid on the ground.
Trevor flailed when the vampire started wrapping his limbs around his torso, and the human leaned back against Tartus, falling back onto the vampire to smash him into the ground. The brown haired man dropped his sword, curling his fingers around Tartus' arm and trying to pry it off as it deprived him of air. He glanced off to meet Banez' eyes as the captain seemed to be in just as bad a position. 'Oh God, send someone to save us!' he thought, mouth gaping to suck in as little air as he could.
