Draven was trying to get his ass out of these damn mountain tunnels. He'd followed Valmar and his group in, but had lost them along the way when he'd gone to eavesdrop on another couple vampires for a moment. And in the darkness and scent filled labyrinth of the mountain, he'd goten flustered and hopelessly lost. A wonderful navigator he was... He grumbled to himself as he turned yet another corner and headed down the dark, damp stone tunnel in hopes that he might run into the general or one of his little lackeys. Anger glinted in his bronze eyes as he glared into another opening that led into another passageway. He glanced between the new entrance and the way he'd been heading. If he lived in this mountain, he'd certainly die of starvation; he never could find his way out without help. With a growl, he dropped to the floor and leaned against the wall, staring down the new tunnel, his bright eyes narrowed in irritation. He wreaked of Wereanimal blood and was itchy from the dried substance and he just wanted to get the hell out of here and go back to Cados or Issilt or something...

The mission was a success for the general. They were able to infitrate the werefolk's holy ground, slaughter countless victims, and desigrate their land without being suspected. Hopefully, this will final straw in the feline/canine relations and they'll soon be fighting each other. Soon, the guardians of men will collapse and the new age of vampire dominance will take place.
Yet, something felt missing for the Roman. Draven was missing. Yes, he knew the mercenary was pissy at him and he had such 'valuable' time, but it felt wrong not to award him. Afterall, he did play an key part in the plan.
After paying and dismissing his troops, he figured he should find Draven and pay him, maybe celebrate with a drink or two. Valmar traveled through the caverns, looking for that mercenary. However, with the scent of wereblood in the air, he tracked and found Draven. The general forgot he wasn't native to these cave, so he figure he should help him.
"Draven, I'm glad I found you," called out the general, "I see you're a little lost. Need help?"

Draven grumbled as he looked up at Valmar from his seat on the cold passageway floor. He didn't really want any help from the general (in fact, he wanted to get the hell out of here and find something useful to do, like tearing up a few trees or killing something else to relieve his anger) but he knew that without Valmar's help he was going to be stuck in this damn mountain for a lot longer. With a heaving sigh, he got to his feet and nodded, looking disgruntled. "Yeah, I'm lost," he muttered, looking around him in the darkness. "Damn place pisses me off. I hate being closed in like this. If you don't mind, leading me out or something would be nice."

"I see," scoffed the General, "Well, since you perfer the outdoors, let me lead you out of here. Make sure you follow me." Valmar didn't like being a tour guide, but since Draven wasn't a native, he had to lead him out of here like a school teacher. While Valmar guided the mercenary out, he figured he should bring up some chatter. "Anyways, I thought you did superb out there on the field. I figured I might keep you on the payroll."

"How considerate of you," Draven replied, coolly, sounding rather unamused. "Excuse my asking but when was I off the payroll?" He wasn't pleased by the fact that he had to be led around like a child but it was better than being stuck in this hell hole. He continued to grumble to himself as he followed, watching Valmar's back with a frustrated glare. He didn't even wait for an answer to the question; it was more because he was pissed off that he asked. "I only did my job," he continued, reaching up to ruffle his short hair. "So nothing superb about it. It's what I do... I need to eat something." Trailing thoughts, he voiced his hunger not only vocally but his stomach growled as well. All that blood had aroused his hunting lust and now he was regretting having not eaten before the attack.

Valmar gave a chuckle, "Oh course not, it's just when I hire new recruits, there is a period of probation. So far, you are meeting my expectations." The general grinned. "Well, I like your work. I know you don't like me, but at least have some form of cooperation."
When Draven mentioned he was hungry, the general also started to have the munchies. Afterall, with such a wonderful killing spree, he did deserved a well treated meal. "Maybe we could venture into the Tiaelde and grab ourselves snack."

Draven looked at Valmar with a disgruntled glare. "I was thinking something more animal over something human, thanks," he said, sounding completely and totally worn. "Just get me out of here and I'll go find myself a meal and something to drink... God knows the taverns around here have some good things to drown yourself with." The thought of spending a night alone, drinking, was rather pleasing to his mind. Spending it drinking with someone else would be nice, but for the time being, alone was good too. Then he wouldn't make an idiot of himself. And that would be something he really didn't want, especially not with Valmar...

Hunting animals? What's the fun in that? They were slaughtering animals just hours ago. Valmar couldn't understand Draven's "pro-human" stance. The very humans who he vows not to hurt are willing to kill him when they have the chance. He's willing to masscure innocent werecritters on their holy land, yet he wouldn't lay a scratch on a human. How does he even live?
"Well, I guess we could hunt deer; they are quite active during this time of year. And afterwards, we could travel to The Mountain Goat. It's been years since I travelled to a human pub for a good drink."

At least Valmar was going to take his opinion of not harming humans. Draven appreciated that. He nodded to himself before he realized Valmar couldn't see him, that he was walking behind the general. With a roll of his bright eyes, he stepped up to walk beside the hulking vampire, scratching his chin. "Yeah, sounds good I guess," he said, trying to sound indifferent. "Deer aren't hard to catch and I just need something to knock me on my ass for a little." He didn't much go for the idea of Valmar joining him; he'd hoped that mentioning he wanted to get drunk would throw the other off. But it seemed he was willing to join him and so Draven was going to have to tolerate his presense a little longer. With a shrug of his shoulders, he glanced up at the general, bright eyes sparking in the dark. "Why is it you're so willing to come with me everywhere, huh?" he asked, honestly curious.

The general slowed down and allowed Draven to walk next to him. Valmar didn't want him to get lost again, though he chuckled when Draven asked him why he wanted to hang with him. "Well, it's because I like to connect with everyone of my soldiers," explained the general, "You see, I can tell we haven't connected all that well. I can tell you hate my guts. If we are going to work together, we have to have some sort of common ground. I mean, we don't have to agree with everything, but at least we could stride for some unity."

Draven made a slightly confused face and raised a brow as Valmar talked. Strange, he never thought the general cared about anyone but himself or anything but what he wanted. Of course, that would make him more than a tyrant than a general, he supposed... Which was how Valmar acted, in Draven's opinion. "Alright," he said, thoughtfully, still looking confused. "What unity are you looking for then?" He had no idea what Valmar wanted from him besides his stealth and ruthless killing abilities. So he had to ask what the general wanted from him that would be common ground.

"Well, clearly seeing your preformace against those werecritters, we could unite in eliminating from the face of the earth," he replied. "I understand how you can come across me as a...monster. Yes, I could be cruel; yes, it seems I come across as someone with their own agenda. But, I could be quite a reasonable person well. I award good behavior and punish bad, I mean tell me, what's wrong with that."

"Werewolves and werecats have always posed a problem to my work," Draven said, visibly and audibly relaxing beside Valmar. "More recently, at least. I was usually well hidden before but now they're becoming like the animals they really are and looking for us." He growled to himself, shaking his head. He supposed he and Valmar did have common ground when it came to werecreatures then. Though he didn't really agree with Valmar's opinion on punishment because what he'd done to Ashemir was way beyond overboard. But whatever, no need to bring that up at the moment. "Are we almost out of this damn mountain?" he asked, sounding a little distraught.

"Very shortly," replied Valmar. Very shortly was the correct statement for around the next corner, the sunlight blinded them with it rays. The canvern exit was a window in the green and lucious forest that surrounded the mountain. The general gave a sigh and said, "Very soon, we will be able to live out in the open. No more cramming ourselves in these dark, cold caves. We could live where we please."

"I don't happen to cram myself in these dark, cold caves," Draven said, relishing the sunlight. "I prefer to be outside and I stay outside. And so could you, if you were more careful." He looked at Valmar and shrugged his shoulders. Finally, he could see the outside so he was much more relaxed. And hunger clawed at his stomach again. "You can lead the way if you want," he said, looking out toward the forest. "I don't really feel like it right now. And you're so good at being a leader." The jibe was clearly sarcastic and he chuckled to himself.
