Rules: 1. If you're not a werewolf, you probably don't fit in here. 2. Posting order I guess. 3. Ummm.... Yeah, that's it. ----
Blood.
Paws pounded against the forest floor, muscles burning as he pushed himself to his limits.
Yeszlin's blood.
The scent grew stronger with each bound he took and he knew he would reach the source soon. He tried projecting his mind to her again, stretching the connection as far as he could manage.
Yeszlin! Yeszlin, can you hear me?
Nothing. Jaws parted his breath coming heavily as his nose was assaulted with another scent.
Lavender.
He skidded to a halt as he spotted a familiar bag. The scent of blood and lavender was so stronger that it nearly made his head spin. His eyes trailed downwards, focusing on the blood, his rage building.
The werecats did this. He threw his head back, a bloodthirsty howl ripping from his throat and echoing throughout the forest, calling his wolves to him.
They hurt a member of his pack. This meant war.

Acres away, Tuari raised his head.
"Did you hear that?" he asked his twin, frowning. Indigo was lying on his back, absently carving a bear out of a small block of wood.
"Hear what?"
"Harrier just howled," the first brother got to his feet, gazing with some concern in the direction that the cry had come from. To any other species, a wolf's howl was merely that- a Werewolf, however, could distinguish it as clearly as one's speaking voice. Their Alpha calling them out into the woods was unusual, a thought that Indigo clearly shared, for as absorbed as he was in his childish carving he quickly put it aside.
"Maybe something's wrong," he muttered. Tuari nodded in silent agreement, touching his injured shoulder. The encounter with the bear had left a sizable gash in his upper arm as well as a small bruise on his opposite temple. Because of this, he had been unable to walk much in his wolf form.
"Go on ahead," he said, as they began a brisk walk toward the noise. "You'll be much faster...I'll catch up." They broke into a run and Indigo slid seamlessly into his canine form, sprinting ahead and disappearing into the brush with a whip of his grey tail.
Mere minutes later, he broke into the clearing where Harrier waited, looking to be nearly trembling with rage. Hey, what's all the- woah.
His first inhalation of breath drew with it two very unpleasant smells. First was blood- the sweet aroma stuck out sharply. And the second was Werecat- the clearing reeked of the cat's stink.
What happened here? Indigo asked dumbly, nosing at the bag, which smelled distantly of Yeszlin. Where is she? Is she okay?
Helpless anger flared and the wolf gave an unintentional bark of anger, pawing the ground in frustration.

There was a great disturbance in the pack. A soul was missing and Harrier was greatly upset. Baba walked over where the comotion was. Immediately, the smell of Yeszlin's blood was a bad sign. He picked up the pace until he was sprinting in wolf form. The elder grouped up with Harrier and Indigo, and there he saw the horrid sight.
There lied the bag soaked in the blood of Yeszilin's blood. Such a shameful, disgusting act done to someone who Baba knew since she was a pup, as well to their pack. Even though he hid his emotions, he mourned for Yeszilin with great passion. From the smell of lavender to Harrier's rage, the high advisor knew what the Alpha was thinking. You better not be thinking what I think your thinking about

Fur gave way to light skin and freckles, the young captain shifting before he'd even gotten his feet under him as he broke from the brush. He sank to his knees near Indigo, reaching out to lightly touch the abandoned bag. He licked his lips, his mouth gone dry at the smell of lavender and blood. Why had this happened?
Kahit's hands trembled slightly as his mind quickly put the pieces of the puzzle together. Pain showed through his attempt at a neutral expression as he turned his gaze towards Baba, and then Harrier. He could at least hide the tremble in his hands by gently combing his fingers through the fur at Indigo's neck, hopefully soothing the others' anger and frustration.

I... I can't answer that, Indigo. His attention soon turned to Baba as he appeared. And what else could I be thinking about? Harrier's front claws dug into the earth beneath them in frustration. He respected his advisor of course, but this... Why couldn't he see it too? He shifted out of his wolf form, where the stench of werecat would come a little less poignantly. He remained in a crouch, reaching over to take her bag in his hands.
"Can't you smell it? Their stench is everywhere. This demands action! Would you rather leave Yeszlin to die?" He drew his Claymore, using the edge of his blade to cut his finger so that he could add his blood to the bag to be able to shift with it.

"What," behind them all a voice was calling. "Smells like the wrong end of a Werecat?"
Tuari said this with his usual jovial nonchalance. Smiling at the grim faces, it was a moment before he glanced down at the spot of crimson, and the grin slid from his features.
"Whoa," he said, unconsciously pointing at the blood as if no one else had noticed it. Indigo growled at him.
Yeszlin, he answered the unasked question. Kahjit had yet to speak, but the wolf turned his grey eyes up at his Captain, as if the next step hinged on convincing him. And I agree with Harrier; they've gone too far. They've hurt one of our own- they have to pay.
Tuari suddenly looked uncomfortable. Shifting back and forth on his feet, he glanced nervously at Harrier, adding blood to the evidence. "Hold on a second," he said, one hand still gesturing by seemingly its own accord. "Why didn't...why would...." his hand twitched helplessly at Yeszlin's blood. "Why her? I mean...what are we going to do? March into Feryn and demand her return? I don't...I just don't get it...weren't we supposed to go on a- a mission with them in Tiaelde in a few weeks?"
He paused, making a face at Indigo, who had bared his teeth at him. "All I'm saying...what if this was a solitary Werecat? Their society doesn't work like ours, its messed up...can't we find the Werecat that did this?"
You can't track a Werecat unless you can match scent to a face, Indigo snarled. You know this. Baba, come on, something has to be done. His head swiveled to the elder.

It seemed the evidence did point towards the werecats. Their smell was all over the crime scene. Yet, the elder had his doubts. Why would the werecats purposely provoke their race when they were about do a co-joint assault on the vampire's lair? Were the top leaders responsible for this act? Could the entire werecat race be liable for a rogue move? It would be too rash if they decided to declare war right now. This could of been done by a rogue group or even worse, the vampires. Would they be this clever enough to successfully travel deep in their lands and kidnap their ambassador? Yet, they couldn't do nothing since this was a high security brench.
We should put our forces into high alert, but we shouldn't declare war yet. Let us at least discuss this to the Werecat chief, see if she had any involvment. While the scent says werecat, it also smells foul. All we know that someone from the outside, werecat or not, might be playing our strings.

"They had to gather together for the first time in a while because of the mission. They had a... change of heart." The werecats didn't easily work together, so it wasn't hard to imagine a change in plans if there had been bickering about the vampires.. but why change to this? Was it a play on dominance somehow? He looked towards Tuari, pointing out, "If it's a lone werecat, Chey is still responsible." They could demand Chey find Yeszlin and return her, but if it turned out it was a pack action, they'd be sitting around waiting while who knows what happened to their ambassador. Their ambassador, indeed! So much for foreign relations.
No matter what, they couldn't afford not to confront the werecats in some way. He just worried that speaking with the werecat chief would waste time, when they couldn't even trust what she has to say.

"Talk to the chief? And what good would that do?" Harrier asked. "Chief? Her title means nothing! She couldn't get a werecat to save a kit if she tried!" There was a slight growl in the back of his throat as he spoke through his frustration. He considered Tuari's words. "A solitary werecat? Do you think that she couldn't have fought off just a single werecat? There would have to have been more struggle than this. There's no werecat blood... and the ground is hardly disturbed." His gaze swung to Baba. "Why are you so convinced that this wasn't caused by the werecats? All evidence points to them! If we don't do anything than Yeszlin..."
He finally stood, taking a deep breath of forest air. He looked toward his guard captain. "Her scent is faint. I can't follow it very far. How do you think they got her out of here?" They apparently didn't drag her.

Yeah, Indigo leapt on the evidence at once. It had to be more than one. I bet a bunch of 'em carried her out of here, that's why there's no scent trial. If we hold their leader responsible, they would have to give up Yeszlin's whereabouts, right? He looked hopefully at Kahjit.
"Some Werecats are bigger than us," ignoring his brother, Tuari appealed to Harrier. "Lions or...or leopard forms, could overpower any wolf. They don't have just teeth like we do but they have claws as well. Maybe it was just a really big Werecat, acting by himself, that ambushed her and then carried her out. Or- or like Baba said! What if it's someone else!"
He looked pained. "I'm not saying we should leave her to die, but what if we're in the wrong?"

"I just asking for you to think logically, Harrier," replied Baba, "Right now, you're allowing your emotions to take over, which isn't a good thing. You have to calm down and allow yourself time to think before you plan on shipping our pack to war."
The elder then gave a sigh. Baba didn't want to seem like he didn't want to anything. He cared for Yeszlin, just everyone here in the pack. He wanted her back safe and secured like everyone else but putting the pack in risk by declaring war. "Remember, you must think of welfare of the pack. Do you think Yeszlin would want you to ditch whatever relations with the werecats for war? Again, prep our forces, conduct a search, but allow negotiations. I know you don't like Chief Cheveyo, but at give talks a chance. If the talks don't work or the werecats make another, then, you can do whatever disgression you please."

"Logically," Kahjit interjected, his normally hazy voice tight, "We must follow the evidence we have, or we'll be chasing our tails in circles." He tipped his head back, taking a long breath. He didn't think Yeszlin would want relations with the werecat's to be weighed as more important than the life of one of their pack members, and he didn't couldn't think of any reason to suspect anything but werecats. One or several, they were still responsible for their own, weren't they? "We could ask the chief to let a group of us search Feryn. If she refuses, I don't see what we can do but fight."

"I will talk to the chief," Harrier growled. "Oh I'll talk to her. We'll plunge into the heart of Feryn itself." His fists clenched tightly. "We'll demand to talk to her. And if they refuse..." His eyes burned. "Then they'll pay. They have no hope of defeating us in a war. Not with the way they've scattered. And anyway... I could not send a single werewolf in to negotiate them. It is far too dangerous and we don't have the time to ask the humans to act as a mediator as I might have done with any other negotiations."

I say we go now, Indigo growled darkly. Far from his usual carefree jubilant nature, the Misae twin's tone sounded murderous. Tuari nodded in agreement- talking, at least, would get them somewhere.
"The sooner the better," he conceded, and rubbed his bandaged shoulder. Despite the pain, he wanted to come along...it wasn't crippling, after all, and desperate times called for putting aside small comforts.

"If you must, Harrier, how about I talk with Chief Cheveyo?" suggested the elder, "That way, if the werecats were to attack, you would be ready mobilize the pack. I'm an excellent diplomat. Besides, we don't know we would be walking into a trap."
That, and he was afraid that he'll provoke tensions even more.
