Scipio averted her gaze with a grimace. "No, of course I'm not," he said gruffly, rather annoyed. "Why can't I come with you for your...job. What is your job, anyway?"
He was aware that he was beginning to ask too many questions, but part of him didn't care. He had blindly agreed into staying with her, yes, but he felt he deserved some answers, as well. "I can take care of myself, you know. I was a soldier at one point, a good one, too."

Zephyr raised a brow and looked amused. More questions? And he wanted to come with her? She didn't find that to be a good idea. Not with Valmar and the other vampires. And he'd probably get drunk and wander the labyrinth of tunnels in the mountain and get lost and/or killed by another vampire... She shook her head and smiled at him again. "I'm a weaponsmaster," she stated, almost proudly. "But that's besides the point. You can't come with me to my job but I'll come back to you tonight. Soldier as you were, it's still too dangerous for you." She gave him a once over as if to say 'and how you look proves that point.'

Rubbing his arm in distracted frustration, Scipio caved. "Fine," he said grudgingly. "I'll be..." he was about to say 'in the bar', but changed his mind.
"You'll know where to find me." He turned to leave, feeling both rather let down and annoyed. He didn't like the idea of waiting around for whenever this Vampire chick decided to pay him a visit; he wanted to be doing things, and had been under the impression his relationship with her would help him achieve that.

Zephyr wasn't done with Scipio yet. She grabbed ahold of his arm and spun him back around, allowing herself to use a bit of that inhuman strength she possessed. She made him look at her and her yellow eyes were serious, as if she were warning him. "Don't act like that," she said, giving him a pouting look. "I've decided you're worth keeping around and that I like you. So my promises to you are genuine." She looked toward the mountain, then at Tiaelde. How frustrating... And to accent her words, she leaned up and gave him a rather long and meaningful kiss. Then she broke away and took a few steps toward Tiaelde, her hands clasped behind her back over top the sheath of her broadsword. "Scipio Varick, I will see you tonight," she stated, quietly. "After I visit the town, I'll go talk my boss. Wait for me, alright? And no leaving in the middle of the night because I can follow you." She glanced over her shoulder from the corner of one yellow eye and Scipio might have noticed the little smirk on her face. The look said it all: 'You're mine now, little pet.' And then she started walking, unsure whether or not he wanted to enter town with her or go on his own. Either way, Tiaelde was right there and she was tired of waiting for a meal.

Caught off guard, it took a second for Scipio to soften into her kiss, cupping the back of her head with one hand. When she pulled away, he was considerably more pleased.
"Scipio Varick, I will see you tonight," this time it didn't bother him that she knew his name. He even managed a smile, a genuine one. He merely nodded as she warned him not to skip out of town (like he'd be going anywhere with her promise to pay him a visit that night), and watched her go as she turned back toward the mountain.
For a few minutes after she disappeared into the trees, Scipio stood mutely in thought. Then, turning slowly back to Tiaelde, he made his slow descent toward the town, for the first time questioning whether or not he actually wanted an ale.
