1. Werewolf party! So if your character has no reason to chill with the werewolves, they probably don't belong here.
2. If you have a werewolf character, PLEASE join. Thanks. ^^
--------
A howl split the cool night air, echoing off the stone wall of the ruins. A white blur could be seen hopping up onto one of the fallen pillars. Gray eyes narrowed as the arctic wolf parted his jaws, taking in a breath as if it was tasting the air. Tail swishing through the air, it raised its head again, letting another howl rip from his throat.
They began emerging from the surrounding forest wolves of every size and color. However, these were no mere wolves. As they reached the base of the pillar, they began to change, shifting their form. The alpha watched them a moment before dipping his head, beginning to shift his form as well. His white fur began to recede and his paws began to grow, digits changing to become opposable. His limbs began to lengthen and his ears began to shrink. Before long, it was a man who stood upon the pillar. He wore leather armor, which was decorated with gold swirls. He had white bangs that hung down on either side of his face, and delicate features.
There was trouble in the air. He could scent it. That's why he had called this meeting; to discuss what may come.

Vieko was leaning his shoulder against one of the pillars, a small distance from the larger groups of werewolves. Although entirely human in the lycan meeting, the werewolves wouldn’t know this. Wrapped around his ankle, in his boot, was the blood necklace that gave him the smoky scent of his fellow werewolves. Yes, ‘fellow’, for Vieko Ainger had transcended race itself! So now he stood with the lycans, his travel sack resting on the ground while he loosely held one strap in his hand.
He had allowed himself thirty minutes to activate the spell and walk the rest of the way, so that the large group would only smell another werewolf approaching. That would give him two hours to stay at the meeting before he had to turn back and put some distance between him and then. Such a small window… and each second that the alpha didn’t come pinched his heart. Then, the white blur came, and Vieko perked, then smiled. Now his precious time would not be so wasted.

//Here comes Valcyn!!!// As Valcyn ran towards her home, she heard the alpha calling. Good timing, she thought to herself. Any later and she would have either been late or missed the meeting completely. And that would not have been good, not at all. She arrived at the old castle and shifted from her wolf form into her human form, and walked into the ruins themself. Valcyn looked around for a place to watch Harrier from, and finally settled near a male werewolf. She nodded politely to him in greeting. She didn't know him, which was odd, as most werewolves knew each other, but she dismissed it. He was a werewolf, that was good enough for her. But in the back of her mind, she was still a little suspicious. She sighed and shook her head a little as if to clear it, and looked back up at Harrier as he shifted into his human form from his wolf form. //Sorry it's so short, I've got writer's block at the moment.//

She approached the call of her Alpha, the gray-brown wolf stepping from the shadows and out into the open before the rubble of the castle. She stared up at Harrier as she changed to her human side, still wearing the long, over-sized shirt she had when she'd been at the Castle days before. Nothing else covered her body; she didn't need anything else. Here, she let the shirt slip over her shoulder, exposing part of the black ink that marked her skin. Her blue-green eyes almost glowed in the half-light as she watched her Alpha, crossing her arms as she continued to walk forward, pausing when she felt she was close enough to see and hear him. She had been nearby, waiting for something to happen and so she wasn't surprised there weren't many here yet. She nodded to Valcyn, in greeting, and to the male she didn't recognize. Strange, he was new to her but maybe she would investigate when the meeting was through. With a sniff, she turned her face back up, her long blond hair falling around her shoulders and down her back as she did. She watched Harrier change and waited to see what had brought on this sudden meeting.

Harrier watched the werewolves assembled for a moment before raising his chin to speak. "Long have there been tensions between the werecats and ourselves. Long have the humans remained neutral in this matter. However-" here his eyes narrowed slightly. "-the werecat ambassador was recently spotted traveling to Cados. We can only assume that the werecats are trying to tip the balance of power in their favor. We cannot allow this to happen! If the humans join with the werecats then there will no doubt be war. A war that will cost us many lives if the humans rise against us." He paused a moment, before continuing. "I've called this meeting to discuss what we should do to keep this from happening, and to prepare ourselves for war should it come."

Vieko smiled at the women that silently greeted him. Oh, he had thought of everything. No werewolf had seen him before because his parents had met in Cados, where he was born and raised. He was a city wolf, except for occasional trips out to Naulus where he would meet with his grandparents, who lived some distance away from the ruins.
He looked up at the alpha when he began speaking. Ah, this news again. No matter where you were, it was of interest. "Should we try to speak to the human royals, then?" he called up to the alpha on his pillar. "Remind them of everything we've done for them over the years and such."

Valcyn stood quietly, listening intently to Harrier. When he spoke of the Werecats and the Royal family, she shook her head to herself. The same age-old debate. She, herself, didn't join in the hatred that most of her species had for the other Weres, but it was a blood-feud that had lasted hundreds of years, and the end of it wasn't anywhere near, as far as Valcyn could tell. But it was the way of things, and Valcyn could hardly change it, so she simply endured it and tolerated it. At least, to a certain point. But what Harrier was saying was coming close to starting violence, it seemed to her. She decided not to say anything just yet, but when he started getting out of hand, she would remind him of the true threat to peace- the Vampires. Not the Werecats or the Humans. If that couldn't stop him, though, she would have to think of something else....

Yeszlin tilted her head as Harrier spoke, and then the stranger. She stared at the one she didn't know, watching him carefully as he spoke. She also looked at Valcyn, who didn't seem inclined to bring in any opinion. Goodness, was it left to her to bring up points in favor of and against Harrier? She sighed and lifted a hand, her fingers touching her forehead lightly as she closed her eyes. She would have to, she supposed. As Historian, she knew a lot of the past events. She hoped that Harrier did not mean they needed to be immediately ready for war, though she was certain there would be some sort of fight between the two Were races soon. "Harrier," she said, lifting her face to him again as her hand dropped down with the other. "Would it be a bad idea to send the Werewolf Ambassador to speak with the Royals, as our friend..." --She trailed off, looking at Vieko as if trying to remember his name; he had to be someone she knew... right? She shook her head and looked back to Harrier.-- "As he has inquired as well? I agree we should be prepared, yes, but should we not see what is going on in the Castle first? I know I just returned from there, and my friend in the Library told me of the Werecat Ambassador, but it could merely mean the Werecats are looking to ensure safety or something else. We cannot assume that that Amassador being there means something bad, Harrier. We need more information first."

"I'm not saying we launch an attack immediately," Harrier replied. "And I agree that we must dispatch our ambassador immediately. However, I will not discount the possibility of war. After all, the tensions have been building for years. I will not start this war, but should it come, I will not shrink from a fight. We must be prepared just in case. We mustn't be taken by surprise if the werecats are planning something. We can send the ambassador while preparing for the worst, can we not?"

Vieko glanced at Yeszlin when she looked at him, returning the look with a smile. Even as a human, he could feel the waves of suspicion. Jeez! He had heard that there was a meeting, so he came! Would they rather that a fellow werewolf NOT come to the super important meeting? You know, more werewolves are driven off when they feel dejected like that!
The alphas planning sounded reasonable, but other than his first suggestion, Vieko wasn't sure how to prepare for war. Well, besides the obvious 'keep an eye on the werecats', 'tread carefully' and 'poke humans with a friendly face and ask for help'. He looked over at the other two next to him, as though inquiring for their ideas.

Valcyn watched carefully, listening intently. She finally spoke up,"If we go to war without cause, we will be remembered for an eternity as barbarians. However, if we swallow our pride and do as we should do, and settle this peacefully, then we will be remembered as a great race. Also, I must remind you, the Werecats are not our true enemy. The Vampires are." Valcyn said, looking at Harrier. She stood, waiting for the reply that was sure to come quickly. Harrier was not one to hide his opinions, in her experience with him. She looked sideways at the male Werewolf beside her. Something about him.....she sighed and looked back at Harrier.

OoC: I don't see how you powerplayed at all. iC: Yeszlin nodded slowly, listening to everything that was being said, logging it in her mind. Both who had spoken had good points. Preperation and readiness was nothing to be wary of. But she didn't want it to seem like they were preparing to attack rather than defend. And Valcyn also had a point as well. The vampires were up to something; she could sense it, even if she couldn't prove it. How frustrating... She had to agree with both, though. She, again, looked at the wolf she didn't know, eyeing him suspiciously. He just didn't seem right. She was growing more and more anxious as he lurked away from them, listening to them, barely putting in any idea or word of his opinion. She would bring that up later, though, and she lifted her blue-green gaze to Harrier again. "Yes, you are right," she said, her voice strong. "We should prepare ourselves just incase. But we must do it carefully, as to not bring suspicion upon ourselves. We merely mean defense, correct? So we should keep our movements open, so that there is nothing for any other race to say if the find us prepared." She looked at Valcyn as she continued. "The vampires have been giving me a bad feeling for some time," she said, moving her topic. "I think they are our biggest worry right now. I can return to the Castle in Cados and request for help and information. I feel research would be the best, to see what I could find of anything in the past century of any vampire movements. If we know what the have done in the past, we might be a little more ready for them as well." Her eyes turned to Harrier, finally lingering there. "What do you think, Harrier?" she asked. "Prepare and research?"

"And may I remind you that it is possible to have more than one enemy. Our hatred of the werecats runs deep and has for many generations. Are you doubting the wisdom of our ancestors?" Harrier, among most of his kind, held a deep respect for the spirits of their ancestors. "I don't believe the question to be whether the werecats are our enemies or not. They certainly aren't our allies. However, I do agree that the vampires pose a troubling problem..."
He turned his attention to the ambassador. "I agree that we must prepare and gather our information. Anything you can find out would be useful." He paused a moment, gaze going to Valcyn again for a moment, still addressing Yeszlin. "If it seems, in your best judgement, that the werecats are not a threat as of yet then perhaps... We should shift our focus on the vampires instead."

Vieko looked back at the two women, who were giving him the most suspicious looks. WHAT? WHAAT?? One, he hadn’t moved from this spot where they had joined him. Two, he had made the first suggestion since Harrier’s first statement. What was he supposed to be doing?? It wasn’t as though he was a historian! Maybe he was neutral! They didn’t know!
And how COULD he be productive at the meeting, with these two prying at him with their eyes? Vieko’s brows quickly drew up in misery. They didn’t like him? Well, why wouldn’t they? No one else had ever liked him: not his parents, not his friends, not any passing stranger on the streets that he called home. He thought that werewolves would be different.... Apparently not. He didn't catch most of what the others said, looking down at the ground while wallowing in his sorrow and sense of dejection.

"I am not questioning the wisdom of our ancestors and I never will. I simply have no wish to see us, the greatest race, fall into the trap of bloody anarchy that has claimed many in history." Valcyn replied to Harrier. "Moreover, I am not saying that we should trust the Werecats, either. I am simply saying that for the moment, we have a common enemy, and we cannot bring down the Vampires alone. So, I agree that we should focus on them. Then, and only then, can we settle relations with the Werecats, violently or not."
