Chey felt uneasiness start to fill her up at Aria's sudden change in mood, which swelled up at Remir's hesitation and reluctance. She had chosen Aria to be her Ambassador because of the woman's ability to read people, and to tell the difference between truth and lies. Those skills were necessary when one was an Ambassador, and were very prominent in Aria. They were huge reasons Chey had made her decision, and she was going to trust those instincts now.
Chey resisted the urge to shift into her feline form, but allowed herself to tense up. This man was starting to give her an odd feeling...she could feel suspicion join the unease.
"I'm sure it's not that terrible." The young chief replied, her voice less kind and easygoing now. It hid a hint of apprehension, as well as that suspicion. "No feline is truly ugly. Humans just do not appreciate the beauty of a lion or a tiger...they are blind to the magnificence of a cheetah or a bobcat. They don't understand. I'm certain your feline form would be appreciated by your own kind, Remir."

The tigress dipped her great head. Indeed, Humans often confuse ugliness with their mere fear of difference, she agreed. Even still, some wounds go deeper than flesh and are harder to heal. Take your time realizing your unique magnificence.
I want him watched, Aria thought privately- perhaps it was his over saturation of Human's culture, but something wasn't sitting right with him. As she was absolutely certain he wasn't a Vampire, however, she cast her Chief a sideways glance before addressing him again.
The reason I inquired into your feline form was that we both, here she nodded to Chey, are on our way to gather as many strong-bodied Werecats as we can. There has been a recent infestation of leeches in the Tiaelde mountains, and we are helping the Humans by flushing them out.

"I understand..." Remir said to Chey, flushing red. "And it's the first time I've really been away from home. It's all just so overwhelming." There, he just had to ease into everything... He'd be fine. The look that Aria was giving him was not the one he'd like to see, but hopefully that scrape would heal up with a little time.
And then Aria revealed the reason she asked, and then his stress melted away. He hadn't heard that since departing from Naulus. This was new news! "Really? Gathering together to kill vampires and everything?" he asked, sounding excited. Then he remembered that he wasn't much of a fighter, and he drooped a bit. But then another idea struck him. "Do you know how many vampires are there?"

"We're not completely certain." Chey said with a small sigh, biting her lip. "Stumbling blindly into this gives me a bad feeling, but we have to try. Since we don't know how many vampires we will face up there, we have to have as many werecats on our side as possible to eliminate them. They're becoming a problem for the citizens of Tiaelde."

Can we count on you for your aid? Aria asked him, fixing Remir with her large eyes. She didn't mean for the look to me intimidating, merely imploring. We have only two weeks to prepare, and so a decision now would be most helpful.

Remir paused. "You might be able to send a scout, of a certain variety, to check on their numbers," he suggested to Chey. He left it at that before he turned to Aria. A decision now? Oh, well that was easy. "I wanted to get to know Feryn more personally, but I guess I'll have time for that during the two weeks," he smiled. "Of course you can count on me. Even though I'm not sure if you like me all that much...." Plus he was completely pathetic as a werecat....

"That's a good idea, Remir, but I doubt I could get that done in time. As Ambassador Talei said, we don't have a whole lot of time..." Chey's voice drifted off for a moment before her eyes widened considerably.
"You said you'd help, correct?" She asked, suddenly seeming very excited.

We just don't know you, Aria assured Remir. To be honest, she still hadn't made her mind up about him, but alienating him wouldn't work, either. Our people have never been quick to trust.
It's almost like I'm talking to a Human, she mused privately. Never before had she had to explain her own culture to one of her kind- years of living among the smelly mortals had clearly had some effect.
She stood then, her tail flicking behind her. She was pleased. Thank you, she said, a rather delayed response. I must be off, though- as was mentioned, only two weeks- I wish to get a start on collecting more of our kin.
She dipped her head. Chief Kitchi, Remir, and, pausing to assure they had no parting words for her, she turned to leave.

"But you're preparing for battle. It doesn't help to go recruiting and then be suspicious of everyone you pick up," he laughed. It seemed less about culture to Vieko, and more like common sense. "But I'll be happy to help," Remir said to Chey, nodding to her respectfully. "And goodbye Ambassador. It really was nice meeting you, even if it was a little bumpy," he said as Aria as the tigress left.
Well, he'd be here for a little longer than he liked, but it could only be expected.

"If you're not up for fighting..." Chey let a small smile play on her lips, "...why don't /you/ be that scout?"

Remir's eyes lit up, "Really?" He smiled. "Well, you're right... If I'm not comfortable enough to shift.... I could keep an eye on the other races for you. Including the werewolves." He smiled wider. "Thank you so much. It feels really nice to be.. I don't know... needed, I guess," he said sincerely.

"Here..." Chey reached down into her satchel, fished through the contents, and pulled out a necklace on a thin, long chain, "...take this. It's a blood necklace...it'll keep you from being smelt by the vampires. We can't have that." She offered it to him. "Unless you don't intend to become our spy permanently...? We'd love to have you."

((Just one necklace?))
Vieko took the necklace with a smile. Oh, he knew what it was, alright. "Yeah... I'd be in trouble, then," Remir said. At her suggestion that he didn't want to be a permanent spy, his brows rose. "What? No, I want to! This is.. this is the best thing to ever happen to me." Vieko smiled again, "I'd love to help you."

(( I know, she's getting there ;3 ))
Chey's eyes lit up. "That's wonderful! Here," She resumed rifling around in her bag and quickly located the other necklace Remir would need. "This one's for werewolves...the one I just gave you is for vampires." She handed this to him, as well. "You won't need this for your current mission, but it'll help later....thank you for filling this position."

"Thank you for giving it to me," he smiled. He looked back at the two necklaces, letting the sunlight filter through the glass and blood. "...What if a trail leads me to the humans?" Remir asked, looking up at Chey. "I mean, humans are pretty dumb, and they don't smell things like we do. But just in case a werewolf is hanging around and might think about making things hard on me." He paused in consideration. "And a werewolf might give more information to an allied human soldier that a werewolf they don't recognize in the pack. Right?" he asked.
