Draven chuckled as Travis was introduced, his reason for being there explained. He looked at the less than enthusiastic man behind the bar. What a way to get roped into work. But that was what happened if you were going to destroy someplace you didn't own or have the money to fix. He turned his bright gaze back to Malcolm. There really was nothing he needed. But why not talk to a fellow vampire, one that had yet to kick him out of his establishment. Draven was certain Malcolm wasn't fond of him. He chuckled again, shaking his head. "Nah, just bored," he said, taking a swig of his rum. "Nothing better to do; haven't had a lot of work. Seems the usual jobs I've been doing are running out. Probably moving on to another town soon to find more work. Anyways, I noticed you were avoiding us at that table and I thought I might spread the cheer! You know you could use it." He laughed, the slight motion of his body causing his weapons to clink beneath his cloak.

Travis could only glare at Malcolm and the armed stranger as they talked about how Travis became a "lovely employee" in this tavern. However, in the mists of the other conversation between the woman and the boy, things were getting tensed up. Appearatly, the boy was getting defensive about his story and expressing his worry about the two strangers. The more the boy talked, the more it seemed to expose his lie. Though, the ranger understand because why would you want to talk to a man armed from chest to tow with blades and a mysterious woman. Something big and big was building up and Travis had to be on guard.

Lorin looked up when a young man with blonde braids approached and took in a breath. Had he had enough conversation for one day? But the breath, along with his fight, left him in a sigh. There was no point in holding someone else to another's gaffes. He gestured to the seat across from him, "Go right ahead."
He couldn't help but notice that he seemed to be fairly popular. Did he stand out in some way? It couldn't possibly be the clothes.... Was there some vibe he was putting out? Whatever it was, he needed to find a way to put a stop to it. "They just kept asking me personal questions and wouldn't tell me their business... Makes me think they're thieves or something. Anyway... what's your name? I'm Tier Findlyn."

Shadi took the seat, wondering if the two really could be thieves, chatting up a potential victim. "The bartender seemed familiar with them, so probably not thieves. Well, they could always have him fooled, if they're good at their trade." Chasing their meal ticket off didn't suggest they were competent thieves, though. "I'm Shadi Relinadad. 'Tier'? That's nice sounding. Are you visiting Cados, or from here?"

"I just got a bad feeling," he sighed, taking a drink of his mead. Plus, while talking about oneself was nice for some people, it wasn't for him, and it was also bad form in a conversation to not answer the other person's questions! "It's nice to meet you, Shadi." He thought back offering his hand to shake, but then thought against it. "I'm just visiting Cados for a while. What about you?"

Malcolm shrugged. “I’d offer you a job, but as you said before, I haven’t had much luck with new workers lately.” He caught a brief moment of Travis’s stare, then decided that ignoring the poor fool would be better (and easier) than trying to torment him from across the room.
Turning back to Draven, Malcolm barely heard the soft jangle of steel under the man’s coat. That combined with the topic of work formed a sort of curiosity; had Draven ever mentioned his job before? It had to be a fairly violent career if he needed to carry a whole arsenal under his coat. “What kind of work do you do, anyhow?”

Shadi nodded, smiling, though he really didn't blame Tier for having a bad feeling about the other two. "I'm from Riyer, so I'm just visiting as well. I thought it'd be nice to come to the capital, but I'm not entirely sure what to do with myself now that I'm here. Where you planning on seeing anything in particular?"

Draven shook his head lifting a hand as if to deny the almost offer. He wasn't about to get his ass stuck in a tavern polishing mugs all damn day. No way. He looked at Travis for a moment, then returned his attention back to Malcolm. He hadn't said anything, had he? So he supposed the other vampire had plenty of right to wonder what he did for a living. He raised a brow and gave a secret smile, pulling his cloak around him tighter. The motion brought yet another clink of metal from beneath the thick fabric. "Mercenary or bodyguard, whatever someone is wanting to hire," he answered, quietly, taking another drink of his rum. "Whoever pays the best gets my business. And thus far it's been a very booming business."

What did he think on seeing? It wasn't as though the prince thought that far through on this. He just knew that the first thing he needed outside the castle was a break, and maybe a drink. One that wouldn't be noticed as missing from the wine cellar. "I think maybe the cathedral," Lorin answered. "I heard that there might be some strange things under it." As though Lorin believed any of that, but his lookalike did.... "You're from Riyer? I don't suppose you own a horse, then."

Draven’s job was unsurprising; the man advertised violence like a poster. Malcolm cringed when the mercenary shifted his coat and the steel clacked together once again. (Was this a bad habit of his? Shuffling blades and turning deadly weaponry into a set of whimsical chimes?) It was more surprising that the city guards hadn’t set a constant watch on Mister Mercenary yet.
“Well, I understand why you would be so good at your work,” he said. “You certainly don’t look like an advocate of peaceful negotiation.” He’d been about to offer an apathetic wish of good luck in the next town when the notion of ‘travel’ sparked his interest. If Draven was a town-to-town drifter, there was at least a small chance that he’d happened upon a certain traveling twin.
“Say, you travel a lot as a mercenary, right?” he asked, more as an introduction than an actual question. He didn’t really care about the answer. “Have you ever met anyone named Markus Selder? Looks a bit like me, only shorter?”

Draven chuckled at Malcolm's hit at his occupation. He didn't really mind, of course, as he was rather good at his job. Not to mention 'peaceful' in his terms was better defined as 'get in and out without completely destroying the hit and what was around him or her as well, depending on the job'. But then the conversation changed before he could reply with some snazzy, entertaining comment and his smile faded slightly. Markus Selder? The name was familiar, though he couldn't say he remembered the owner well. Over the years, all of the people he'd met had blurred together, some more memorable than others. Markus Selder... He thought for a moment, looking as such as he took another drink from his mug. Bright eyes dulled slightly in the process until he finally gave up and shrugged. "I know I've heard the name, but it's been awhile since I've met its owner," he said, looking at Malcolm with the returned bright color in his eyes. "Sorry about that. I can keep an eye and ear out for the name and person, though. And while we're talking about people possibly seen... Have you met anyone named Marrus Hunter? Identical to me, green eyes, hair's probably much longer?" He tilted his head. This was curious. Maybe he would have a hit on the man mentioned... His brother probably had been here before and, if that were the case (and if Malcolm remembered him at all), Draven would be stopping by more frequently, maybe even staying near the Castle longer, even without much work. The chances of seeing Marrus here (again, if he had been here and Malcolm remembered him) were better than wandering around, missing him constantly.

"Under the cathedral?" Tier hadn't struck him as the morbid type, and he had to wonder if there was more to see than the dead beneath holy ground. "Is there something you were hoping to see?" He asked, curiosity perked. He smiled warmly at the slightly younger man's question. "Yes. A dappled gray with the sweetest temperament. Her name is Kaolin." His teacher wouldn't have agreed with the 'sweet temperament' part.

Lorin shifted slightly and nodded, although he didn’t sound very confident when he repeated, “Under the cathedral. I heard that a portion was sealed off because priests would sometimes go missing. I also read that a saint is buried there with a sword. It’s supposed to be blessed, and holy.” He shrugged, his skeptical self taking over again. “I don’t know, though. It’s all just speculation, and this was all documented years and years ago. Who knows if anything is even there anymore.” Even though his lookalike took it all as the truth. Lorin smiled slightly at the mention of the horse, “She sounds like a good horse.”

Malcolm shrugged; he’d expected a negative answer. That was what he got for messing up the first time. It’d been decades since the arson, and Mark still wouldn’t settle down. Ah well. It wasn’t like he had anything less than eternity; there would be more chances to kill dear, dear Markus.
But Marrus Hunter...Malcolm sighed, letting his eyes trail up to the ceiling. He knew the name was familiar; he’d joked about it with another bartender, wondering what kind of job a guy named ‘Hunter’ might have, certainly he couldn’t be a hunter.
“I remember him,” he finally said, looking down from the ceiling to regain eye contact with Draven. “Spent the night a little while ago.” He hesitated, then continued, “By any chance, does he work as a hunter? I’m curious.”

Draven was startled. He really hadn't expected to get any sort of information. His bronze eyes darted around the room for a minute as if he expected Marrus to be sitting there watching him, taunting him with that wicked smile of his. His nose twitched as he turned back to Malcolm when he questioned Marrus's occupation. A deep frown had settled on his face and his eyes were narrowed in frustration. Why hadn't he noticed Marrus's scent before? A growl, almost inaudible in the ruckus of the tavern, rumbled in his throat. "He's a hunter, alright," Draven said, his voice bitter and hateful, bronze eyes seeing beyond Malcolm as if he were seeing his brother right there. "And he has no regard for any life, vampire or human, werecat or werewolf. He serves no one and will not stop until he's either killed me or everything he can."
