"Just shut up and let me finish." Chey snapped, frowning.
When he flinched, she defenitely felt it, and her brow creased with slight worry.
Her brow furrowed even more at his comment on her scent. "You can actually smell correctly around here? I mean, I can pick out your scent among everything else, but only a little...it's annoying me, quite frankly." She paused, inwardly celebrating the fact that she was almost done.
Suddenly switching topics, she let her eyes briefly meet his. "This situation with Yina...it's saddening. I can't stop thinking about it...am I wrong to obsess over what happened here?" She wasn't sure why she was asking him, of all people, but maybe he would understand...

"You're the one being awkward about it," Harrier pointed out mildly. He fell quiet then, just watching the blood drip down his arm. He was distracted from that, though, by her incessant need to talk. "Yes I can scent you. It's not like a stench like that can be ignored when we're so close to each other." With that, he went back to watching the blood. It wasn't bleeding much now, as the silver was acting as a plug to the wound. When it was pulled out though...
Their eyes met and his gaze hardened, instinctively thinking it was a challenge to his dominance. At her words though... "Wrong to obsess? I'd say it is. Thinking about what happened here does nothing. What you need to obsess over is bringing these wrong doers to justice."

With another circle around his torso, Cheveyo finished her task.
She did not respond to either of his first comments, but she did take in his last few words...
While tying the bandage at his side, she considered what he had said. "I...I just can't believe that Yina's gone." She said after a while, eyes on the forming knot. "It just seemed untouchable for the longest time."
The knot done, her attention turned to his shoulder.
A knot then formed in her throat.
"Harrier." She bit her lip, anxiety filling her up. "...I'm sorry."
In a matter of seconds, she was clutching his upper arm with both of her hands and latching her teeth onto the silver shard, intent on pulling it out. Assuming he didn't yank his arm away or squirm too much, the shard would be removed from his wound and her right hand would be clamped over it, left remaining on his bicep.

"It's not gone." Harrier's tone grew harsh for a moment. "Yina will be reborn, just as any forest would after suffering damage. No mortals can completely destroy its life. That's what makes it special. Yina has been tainted, yes, but that will not stop it from repairing itself." He drew a breath, eyes going to the sky.
Then she suddenly grabbed the shard with her teeth, and he at last flinched. However, he forced himself to stay as still as possible. Without the plug, the blood would begin to flow freely, likely getting all over her hand. His muscles tensed as he forced himself to control his reaction to the pain.

Cheveyo spat the shard onto the grass beside them, a faint amount of blood on her lips. She quickly wiped this away with the hand that had been on his bicep and grabbed his shirt once more.
Keeping her right hand on his wound and pressing hard, showing no signs of caring that her palm was being covered in blood, she started to rip more strips off of the shirt using her teeth and left hand. She did this as quickly as possible, knowing there was no time to waste.

Harrier closed his eyes, drawing dizzying breaths. "We need to track down that other vampire..." His voice was beginning to weaken as his earlier fire began to drain. His muscles trembled slightly from weakness, although he would never admit to such weakness in front of her. "Are you going to be finished soon?"

"I'm trying, I'm trying!" Cheveyo's words were muffled by the cloth in her mouth, but not enough to hinder understanding.
She pulled the shirt downward suddenly with her left hand, tearing the strip off. She then removed it from between her teeth and starting wrapping Harrier's shoulder, manipulating his arm so she could apply the bandages properly. His trembling did not go unnoticed, and more worry began to show on her face. If he was already suffering so much - she knew he had to be holding back...this was Harrier - the trip to Naulas was going to be brutal.
"We're not going after that vampire. Not while you're in such a state...we'll find him later. For now, just focus on breathing, all right?"
The fabric was already staining red. Chey cursed under her breath and pulled the makeshift bandages tighter against the wound.
"About your earlier comment..." She said after a bit of silence, "I didn't mean that Yina would never heal...I meant that the spiritual value would be gone. The land has been covered in sin...how does one go about mending such wounds? Surely there is no hope for the meaning behind Yina. The grass shall grow again and the trees will slowly be restored, but..." She sighed. "I'm rambling now...I apologize. Just...keep breathing and don't mind me."

"Well I didn't mean that I was going to chase him down," Harrier replied, furrowing his brow for a moment. What, did she think he was stupid? He wasn't even entirely sure if he could walk right now... His jaws clamped shut as he forced himself to stay still, despite wanting to squirm all over the place.
"Its spiritual value is not completely gone." His eyes hardened for a moment. "Only a werecat's faith could be shaken so easily. One disaster cannot completely destroy everything that we believed in. Are you saying that earthly creatures can really destroy Yina completely?" His head shook slowly. "I'm disappointed in you, really."

Continuing to bandage Harrier's shoulder, Cheveyo shook her head, thinking similarly to the man. "Obviously. I even doubt your ability to stand properly...you're going to have to lean on me for the walk back...if we can walk back, that is."
"My faith is not shaken!" She said harshly at his words. "I do not doubt the spirits! I never have! I merely feel that this earthly representation of our spirituality has been dealt a severe blow, is all...and I don't care about how you feel about me, so shut up!" Her mood had done a complete reversal. How dare he accuse her of abandoning or questioning her faith! Stupid, stupid werewolf...why was she helping him again?

Harrier did what he was told for once and stopped talking. However, the hateful stare he gave her said more than words ever could. Why wouldn't she just leave him alone? Why was she insisting on talking to him? Why did she just tell him her doubts about Yina if she didn't want him to comment on it? He just glared into her eyes, waiting for her to look away, as she should.
Nothing was making her help him. In fact, he would have rather she didn't. He didn't like owing anyone anything; especially the werecats.

Ignoring his heated glare, Cheveyo continued to wrap up his shoulder, her own eyes blazing. Why was she trying so hard to help Harrier? He didn't deserve her assistance, yet she insisted...ugh, she should have just left him to die, the stupid dog.
Finally, his wound was properly covered, and the bleeding had slowed...if only a little.
"So...we need to get you back to Naulas." She shifted so that she was on one knee, the opposite foot resting on the ground. "I figure we can make the trip in a two or three days...maybe a little more, depending on if you can walk or not." She offered her hand to help him get to his feet. "And don't try telling me to leave you here or anything; there's no way you're getting back on your own like that."

Harrier pointedly ignored the hand and pushed himself up himself. He inhaled sharply, his head spinning, but other than that he made no sign that he felt like he was going to collapse. He made a small grunt-like noise before he spoke. "The moment we scent one of my patrols, you're leaving, understand?" He didn't want to have to explain this to anyone. Being helped by a werecat was embarrassing enough as it is. He didn't need the whole pack to know.

Cheveyo sighed, becoming more and more irritated by Harrier's attempts to look like he wasn't really in pain. Straightening, she ducked under his good arm and let said arm drape around her shoulders, while her right arm went around his waist. "I know, I know. 'Alpha Konvar's has to keep up his image, blah, blah.'" She rolled her eyes and looked up at him. "So, the first step is literally the first step, I suppose. Don't worry about leaning on me too much - even though I doubt you would care - because I can take it."

"Tch." Who knew how long it would take him to get the werecat stench off of him. Too long, that's how long. He didn't want to lean on her. Not at all. He took a step, forcing his muscles to work, despite the fact that his legs wanted to buckle under his weight. Reluctantly, he shifted some of his weight over to her before taking another step. "Let's just get this over with."

Cheveyo matched each of his steps, forcing back a smirk when she finally felt him put some of his weight on her. "If you actually try to cooperate with me, we'll get through this faster." She wasn't exactly thrilled to have the scent of a stingy old dog all over her, either, but it was a must.
