Travis wasn't sure what the merc and Malcolm was talking about. But the name Marrus Hunter did ring a bell in the ranger's head. He have seen his face in posters, he has heard the rumors, but he has personality met him before. His name burns a fire of rage in the bounty hunter's heart.
"Did you say Marrus Hunter?" approached Travis, "Because I have heard of bastard named Marrus Hunter."

Malcolm snickered under his breath. “Mister Hunter the hunter, then?” he joked, consciously ignoring the sudden dire tone in Draven’s voice. Sure, sure, vicious killer, no regard for life, supportive of equality among races (in death)...Malcolm wasn’t that interested. Some aloof murderer probably wouldn’t be after a bartender, so there wasn’t anything to worry about.
He would’ve offered to ask the other bartenders, but apparently it wasn’t necessary; one of them (albeit the worst one) had already strolled over, giving away the fact that he was eavesdropping in order to join the ‘serious serial-killer’ discussion tone of Draven. Malcolm shrugged; he’d get back at the twit later. “Hey, look at that, Draven’s brother is famous,” he mused, still smirking. “I guess I should’ve thought to ask bounty-hunter Huntman about reckless-hunter Hunter. What ‘ave you heard about the man?”

Shadi leaned forward slightly, brows raising at the unexpected rumors. When the youth seemed disheartened, he smiled encouragingly, "Everything starts with a grain of truth. There could be something under there." Certainly beneath a Cathederal would be a thematic place to find something scary, and scary things seemed to be attracted to such themes.

Well, Lorin didn't lean back when Shadi leaned forward, so that had to be something. "Maybe... Maybe there's something there. But it's sealed off. They wouldn't let just anyone go down there." And, well, he could have the way broken down for him once he spoke the magical words 'I'm the prince!' but it wasn't something that he had his heart set on anyway. Besides, what if he unleashed some horrible beast on Cados? He shrugged again, "Have you heard anything interesting between Riyer and here?"

Draven looked at Travis as he came over, revealing he'd been listening to the conversation. He gave the man a look of curiosity, though it probably would be taken more as a glare as his brows were furrowed together and he was frowning. Someone had seen Marrus, even knew he was a worthless piece of shit on this planet. He held back the growl building in his throat and downed the rest of his drink in one swig. Then he crossed his arms, letting the mug hang off a couple of his fingers lazily. He looked at Travis, carefully, as if assessing whether to trust him or not. Of course, information about Marrus was rare so he couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab it up. "What do you know of my brother?" he asked, his tone dark.

The merc gave his attention to the ranger and in a serious matter. Travis knew he didn't want to give him any pointless or false infromation. In matter of fact, he would like to join up with him to take his brother down.
"Let's just say I this guy killed someone special to me and that I would like him as dead as you do," replied Travis. "I've been tracking your brother for a long time. The man is an evasive bastard; you'll see him in one place and he'll be gone in the next. However, from my sources and my own personal account, he seems to hang in The Mountain Goat at Tiaelde, though as soon you see him, he's gone. Rumors also say that he makes "deals" in the Issilt Port."

"Hmm." Sealed off. Shadi believed that a persistent person could find a way, but that way probably involved breaking and entering on holy ground. It seemed like the kind of thing people wouldn't look kindly on. God probably didn't find it particularly admirable either. When Tier asked what he'd heard on his way over, something did come to mind. "There was this old woman off to the side of the road. She was talking to a pair of travelers, and I didn't catch the entire thing, but apparently she heard there were goblins in cavern's around the mine in Tiaelde." He paused, trying to remember some of the other details to the woman's story. "And I guess they had horded some legendary- or she seemed to think it was- suit of armor. The armor blazes with fire intermittently during battle. Ah, hopefully without toasting the wearer." It'd certainly be unfortunate for a knight to accidentally roast themself!

He thanked heaven that Shadi wasn’t the kind of person to suggest that they actually do it. Vampires and goblins? How did the people of Tiaelde live the lives they did? Maybe after the vampires were driven out from the mountain, he could send squads of soldiers to clear the monsters away as well. Lorin paused briefly, “What do you think would happen to the adventurers if all the monsters disappeared?” His brows raised when the young man across from him mentioned the armor setting itself on fire. Hopefully without burning the wearer, he should hope so! “I wouldn’t want to be in that armor even if it didn’t hurt the wearer.”

"Deals in Issilt?" The question was simple, but it was more a comment to himself than anything. So Marrus was in the port city... Interesting. He hadn't been to Issilt in awhile. And he knew he could get there easily by horse. No more then a few days travel, if not less. He looked at Travis with a dark smile and shook his head. "Marrus is my kill, bud," he said, lowering his arms after handing Travis the mug he'd had on his finger. "You've got enough to deal with here. Malcolm isn't going to just let you go without fixing his tavern." He smirked at Malcolm, then turned his bronze gaze back to Travis. "That is," he continued, quietly. "Unless you can give me some reason to pay the debt for you. Anything else useful you can provide me? More information or good skill with a sword? I'm not taking you with me if you're as useless as you seem. Destroying the upstairs of the place for no reason, you know." He chuckled, looking completely devious, murderous, and mischeivous at the same time.

He chuckled, "It's probably good for frightening the enemy in war. I'm not one for such tactics, though. I think the old woman just had heat stroke anyway." A rock to the face was equally affective with none of the flash. What would happen if all the monsters were gone? "There'd be a lot less work. But there's plenty of men that could fill the 'monster' slot." He didn't think it'd be as fun as slaying monsters, and saving damsels in distress.

The mercenary took information as useful but still treated the ranger slimishly. How many times must he be reminded that he wrecked the upstairs? Yet, it was really Ivan's fault, but Ivan was his responsiblitly. Still, it's still pretty assine but he couldn't do anything legally to about it. Because of this insult, he didn't feel he should help the merc out, even if it was a chance to kill Marrus.
"Sorry, but I don't have any other information for you," replied Travis, "I wouldn't mind offering my skills in archery or swordsmanship, or hell, even help track your brother for you since I am the best there is, but as you said, I have my debts to pay, so I can't par take in your quest. However, I do wish when you meet your brother, that you kill him slowly and painfully for him. I bid good day, sir."
It's not like you're going to get him. Nobody can get him.
He walked back to the bar, going back to cleaning.

Not quite the reaction he was hoping for. Draven frowned after Travis and shook his head. He had only been teasing... He glanced at Malcolm, then followed Travis back to the bar, giving him a look of unknown emotion. He watched the man for a moment, then decided he might as well apologize. No reason having him pissed. That was useless. "I'll pay your debt if you help me," he said, leaning on the bar. "Sorry about the joke, I was only teasing. Didn't think you'd be so uptight about it. Of course, working for a tightwad like Malcolm... I suppose you could be in a bad mood about it." He smiled and chuckled, shaking his head and watching Travis, curiously.

Travis continued to wipe the mugs with a hidden fury passion. A lot of thoughts drowned his mind; how he should of killed Ivan in the first place? Why he had to turn into a monster? Why he ever agreed to work for Malcolm in the first place, didn't he have his heritage back at home? Never before in his life did he ever feel this stupid and humiliated. He was restricted man, useless to society.
Just then, the mercenary that mocked him came over to the bar. At first, the ranger wasn't too happy, and was planning to smash his face with the glass mug he had. However, upon hearing that he wanted to apolgize for his words and was even willing to pay off his debt, well that brought the ranger to his full attention.
He did think about his offer. He would be a freeman and he would be chasing down a ruthless killer. Then again, he felt it was his responsible to pay off the debt, not this stranger. He also felt the need to stay in Cados to figure out things; that and he still needed rest from his battle with Ivan.
"I do accept your apology," calmly stated Travis, "However, I must decline on your offer. While I wouldn't mind ditching this place, this is my burden that I have to deal with. And as you stated before, Marrus is your kill, not mine. Yes I want the bastard dead, but you have a better chance catching him now than I do with the information I gave you. And if you still can't catch him, you can always come back and find me. I'll promise you I'll be debtfree by that time."

Lorin nodded in understanding when Shadi suggested that the fire could be a scare tactic. “…You think she’ll be alright?” he asked about the old woman. Heat stroke wasn’t very good at all! Hopefully she had a family member to look after her. As Shadi mulled over the possibility of there being no monsters, Lorin bit his lip. “I suppose I’d rather slay monsters than kill men,” he said, thinking on the kingdom’s soldiers. How did they do it?

Malcolm followed the Marrus conversation with vague interest (mostly because Travis had been eavesdropping first, so it was justified payback), but once the conversation for to Draven paying the debt, he paid more mind to their words. Travis, ever clueless, wandered off at first, claiming to have no more use (oh, you know, besides skill in archery and ranger-tracking) that he could put to anything besides glass-cleaning. (And if that was all the skill he had, it was a wonder he’d ever made enough to survive.) Draven persisted, and Malcolm smirked. This was the perfect way to get his money’s worth but still get rid of the world’s worst bartender.
And then Travis shot the whole idea down. For pesky, meaningless ‘honor' and 'burdens.'
Malcolm, who had been filling a mug of mead as an absent excuse to listen in, turned and immediately spilled a full tankard of booze all over the ranger’s head. “Have you got your sense back, now?” he chirped, lightly knocking the glass on his employee’s head a couple times. “Think about this. Honor be damned; if Hunter wants to pay your debt, it gets my bar fixed faster, and gets you the hell out of my sight and back to...whatever it is you rangers work at.”
Without missing a beat, Malcolm turned to Draven. “You really think you have enough to cover his debt?”
