Ashemir looked to Valmar, expression now softening. Although he could mock the creatures for waiting so long to act, the vampires couldn't afford an ambush, assuming that the attackers even knew what they were doing in the labyrinth. He leaned back in the couch, processing all the information out in the open, although it was difficult not to focus on the possibility of his home being under attack.
He rested his knuckles on his cheek. "And what would you propose to do about the system entirely? It's not as though humans have any love for us, either." But the more he thought about it, the more the answer started to come to him.

Telling from Seriah's expression, Valmar realized that the small meeting that was suppose to be a simple briefing of military affiars was being compounded into a rally against humans.
"Well, I wouldn't be too worried about Tialde. Our defenses are inpentrature. Our forces are well-trained and prepared. Despite our numbers, we could destory whatever army then send our way. It'll be pretty much messing with a hornet's nest. I wish could tell you the number of creative weapons and methods of killing my men have developed, but that is reserved for another time." The general could only grin on that thought. He hated to end things on a cliffhanger, but to go into that much detail required more time and was better if you had some visuals.
He then decided to go on a tedrum, and add on to Seriah's rant, "The human's fear us because they don't understand the full power we have. Even though they worship a deity that commands them to drink his blood, they are willing are call us freaks. And the werepeople, hunting us down as if we're mere rats. Yet, if weren't for us, they've would of killed each other a long time ago. The way I say it, we are the cure."

He smiled to Ashemir. "Overthrow it, of course. Vampires are more suited to the aristocratic life, anyway."
Seriah turned back to Valmar, "I'm sure we can defend the mountains, but if they were to make a preemptive strike, and that is a big if, winning there puts all of our enemies on high alert. If all three fully commit to ending us, it will truly be an uphill battle." He did NOT like the idea of a preemptive strike. "But the labyrinth is dark, and space is limited. If we're careful, it should be possible to fight many with only a few vampires, and at least not show them our numbers." The last thing he wanted was for everyone to see the vampires as an actual army. A force. Not yet, at least. Not until it was too late for them. "But if the werecats are getting anxious about us, we need simply distract them."
He chuckled when Valmar dug into Christianity. "That is 'emotional cannibalism', far less literal than our actions." He supposed they were like two sides of the same coin.

Overthrow it? Ashemir quirked a brow. He said it as if it was so easy. And, with the tactical discussion that followed it, it certainly was not easy. "I think humans do understand the power we have," he suggested to Valmar. "They fear us because we have the capabilities to end them and everything that they love. But as far as I understand, there are a few vampires that exercise self-control about their lust for human blood, but are even they given a chance? No." He looked back to Seriah. "The kingdom I can see, but what of the werecats and the werewolves?" he asked, his voice gaining an aggravated edge to it. There had better be more sense to this plan than a general outline. Having to fish larger answers out of shorter answers was testing his already short patience.

Ashemir was clearly getting impatient, and to Valmar's eyes, also lacked faith in the plan. Of course, given their current location and condition, there wasn't a good way to give the fine details of the plan. Still, as if he was a salesman, he continued to drive the points.
"A distraction you say," Valmar replied with a sinster tone, "Again, don't worry about that, my Lord. We have a few operatives meadling with their affairs as we speak. Just a few pulls of the strings, and we'll witness the distruction of their already fragile peace. With the were-people fighting amongst themselves, it'll leave us open to the humans, where we can 'recruit' to our army. As soon as we gain enough forces, the already weaken were-creatures will have no idea what hit them."
While he did expanded a bit too much what was needed, he was still confident in his words.

Seriah leaned forward, speaking coldly, "There will be no string pulling I'm not fully briefed on, do you understand me Valmar? I'm happy to hear you have plans, but bear in mind you have to discuss them with me, not execute them while you pat me on the head and tell me not to worry." He shifted towards Ashemir, leaning back again. "That is a concern. I do not like hypocrisy, so I'd rather not take over, and then immediately start killing off all the werefolk. But the plan, in a nut shell, is to cause war to break out between the two tribes, and take over while they're fighting amongst themselves. Once we've established power, things will depend on their actions. They will at least be weakened from their fighting. On one hand," He lifted a hand, "They may continue to fight each other, and on the other, they may reunite, if bitterly, to fight us. Assuming the latter, we may just have to have outright war, but by then we'll have many more numbers, and they will be weak and weary of the fighting. Hopefully they will surrender, and we shall behave accordingly, and keep their numbers carefully watched. But it will be very important that we keep a tight grip on the country." He made a face, again, to much exposition at once. "Well, the plan itself will be tighter than that, but you can at least get the idea, I hope."
"What I would like to tell you both about, is the meeting I plan to hold in Tialde. Most of the vampires are already there, but for those hiding amongst the humans, we'll put word out to get them back to the mountains. It will be a good chance to make sure everyones on the same page, and get any ideas that might be useful to us." Whether or not the ideas were good, getting input from the 'troops' would help insure all the vampires be cooperative. Everyone liked feeling involved. "Will you come Ashemir?" He asked curiously.

Ashemir gave a heavily-lidded sideways glance at Valmar when Seriah gave him a stern talking to. Haha, someone got yelled at. When the dark-haired vampire gave him a longer explanation, his features returned to their expressionless state as he was appeased. All in all, he wasn't sure how to feel about this plan; he had always preferred the solitude in his own corner of the mountain, and he had been able to pass through the years without getting caught. But maybe this change wouldn't be so bad.
Ashemir's head tilted slowly either way, as if he was considering the question. "I might, but this is much to consider."

Valmar was somewhat shocked by Seriah's disapproval of deploying spies in the were-creatures camps. Already, it seems the power struggle between the two men have started to rift. Of course, the General was only performing what like any military leader would do before going off to war, one of those tasks being the deployment spies. In order to attack, you needed to know your enemy and if you know how to manipulate them, you did so. Valmar only saw his reaction as merely as a "superior-complexity" responce. Like any person with power, he wanted things his way and under his control, and if his sub-orbinates do something not under their eye, he gets suspious of that person.
"I'm sorry, my Lord," replied Valmar, "I thought you would be thrilled to hear that you have people encamped in the enemies' lands, awaiting your command. I was only doing what I thought would be good for you, what would be good for the cause."
In someways, Seriah would be right to think that, since Valmar does have some desire for being Warlord. However, Valmar wasn't stupid enough to backstab his leader, especially in this time of need. Right now, his people needed to united and a civil war between the already fraglile species would not only be the end of their plans and the destruction of their own. That, and he perferred his current position: it allowed him to fight, he had the love of his people, and he had power.
"Anyways, I must depart. I'm pretty sure if I remain here anymore, we'll be compromised. I shall meet you at Tialde as you said, and I hope do you same Ashemir. Until then, take care." Valmar then wrapped himself in a silver cloak, making him disappear in to thin air.

"I'm not talking about their position, but the actual 'string pulling' that will cause the werewolves and werecats to snap. Now 'awaiting my command', sounds much better." Admittedly, Seriah felt the current plans were to important not to micromanage to some degree. He'd give Valmar as short a leash as he could, but he didn't want anything being implemented without some words being shared first. They were like a married couple, Seriah just wanted to make sure they had an open and frank discussion before dicisions were made- and, of course, he had the option to veto them if he didn't like that, that way. He stood up, smiling in such a way that suggested he was either very good at internalizing his thoughts, or there were no hard feelings. "In Tialde then. Travel safely."
When Valmar's cloak returned the vampire to invisible, he sat back down, figuring if Valmar broke in, he could just let himself out. He looked back at Ashemir, smiling apologetically. "Sorry, that was a little much for first being introduced into things. Anyway, as far as your involvement, don't let Valmar's earlier remark startle you. You may participate, or be a passive observer. As long as you're not causing me problems, I'm happy to have you around."

Ah, this was a little awkward. Ashemir shifted slightly, turning Valmar's and Seriah's relationship in his mind and comparing it to a parent whose child had run out during night to play games with their friends without telling.
"We will see," he said to Valmar, shifting again when the older vampire became invisible. Hmm... He couldn't help but think that Valmar was still lurking around, perhaps leaning uncomfortably close over their shoulders while they couldn't see him or waiting for when they started bad-mouthing him. He waved a hand at Seriah's apology, "Less would have annoyed me, anyway." The last statement got a slight pause out of Ashemir, who was tempted to ask something along the lines of 'whhhyyyyy?' But instead he settled for, "I might see where I'm needed. I could fight if I had to, but I would rather not."

Seriah leaned back into a more casual, and more comfortable position. He wasn't worried about Valmar hanging around, after all, while he couldn't necessarily hear a heartbeat, they would easily recognize his scent, even if perfumed. "Good. I'm happy to hear it. After all, win or loose, your life will still be affected by what transpires." Even if some were happy to hide, that wouldn't last forever. Not with humans and werefolk constantly hunting. He supposed if everything failed, and he survived, he might just move to a more.. open minded, or at least less suspecting country. But this was his home, and he didn't plan on leaving, or loosing. "For the record, its not like I want to kill everything that isn't vampire. Nothing would make me happier than for everyone to get along- but as thats not going to happen, I'd rather be top dog than bottom."

In an effort like this, if failure was the end result, it seemed to Ashemir that they were all doomed, even those who hid. Hiding was more effective when the hunters weren't on high alert. It was an all or nothing gamble, and while the blonde wasn't much for gambling, he supposed that he had no choice in this matter. "I understand this." Down the rabbit hole, indeed...
"Ha..." Ashemir huffed out rather humorlessly. "So you overhaul the system and leave the others without bearings as we've been without for centuries. Irony is beautiful."

He smiled, "I like to think so." He leaned onto the arm of the chair, asking, "What would you do? If you were the one deciding things, I mean." Granted, Ashemir could hold off on voicing his thoughts until the mountain meeting, if he wanted. But its worth asking while its still fresh on the other persons mind, and not completely over thought.

Ashemir rested his chin in his palm, contemplating the question. "I don't know. It's a great deal to think about. I mean, it involves the entire country." He sighed lightly through his nose, glancing lazily at the piano in the room. "I've always just.. made my way through it. I've never taken serious risks, I don't tend to talk to others, I never go out much... The more I think about it, the more I realize that I haven't /lived/, so to speak." Obviously that sounded like it was a bad thing, but he had to decide if it really /was/ a bad thing...

"You can take your time thinking about it. As long as the questions been planted in your mind." The answer wasn't as important as the thinking. He nodded slowly, "What most of us have can hardly be called 'lives', with the way the country is now." He smiled again, just this side of daring when he spoke again, "Why not try being more involved and see where it gets you by comparison?"
